Need opinions on where to put Fuel Flow Meter

I have a 2005 24V and the fuel gauge is done. I am adding a Faria Fuel Flow Meter and have no open spots on the console. Here is my console, where would you put the 2" Fuel Flow Meter, it is 3" deep. The existing fuel meter in the pics has been replaced by a depth sounder and the tach has been replaced with a perfect pass.

I would put it to the right of the TAPS gauge.

I would put it there but it would not look the same as the other gauges as the are recessed into that pane.

can't you cut that hole larger then the one in the dash (behind that pane), or is there no dash behind the pane?

Just curious but is it a guage to tell you how much fuel your burning per hour or what?

If that spot on the left above the key is flat I'd put it there in the vinyl. If you put it by th etaps gauge it will not contort to the curve of the metal and it will look wrong.

A fuel flow meter measures how much fuel has flowed past it in gallons. It would be similar to the ones used on gas pumps. A flow sensor is inserted in the fuel line (low pressure side). It's about the size of a small in-line filter. They should have a filter between the sensor and the tank. I added the sensor before the factory filter so I added a second filter closer to the tank that I can actually change without tearing a lot apart. I set it up to read how many gallons have been used. It then needs to be reset to 0.0 each time the fuel tank is refilled. There is a procedure to calibrate it.

Does anyone have a picture of their fuel flow install? I've been thinking of this upgrade, but where to put the gauge has been holding me back.

They are very accurate. Daniel @ TWS Corona suggested they install one when we ordered our '07 Rz2. Calibration is set for total gallons. It tells gph during use, gallons used since fillup, gallons left, total gallons used since installed, and various other info. The last two times we refilled it was within a half gallon of what the gauge said we used. Discrepancy may have been from over or under filling. We usually stop filling when it spews. It's are a very useful tool when you learn to trust it over the tank gauge.

Fuel guages suck. If yours is accurate to any degree, then you are in the minority my friend. My gas tank is something like 48 inches long and 8 inches deep, so any kind of float in there is notoriously unreliable.

I have a 01 21 V so I do have a shallow and long gas tank also. Hmmmmmm very interesting. I may need to look into one of these. So next question, I can google for a flow meter, does anyone have a link of one or a few they are happy with???
