My 06 had it, and if yours is an 07, I'd bet it's iroko. For 08, I don't even think they offered Teak. If Tige is offereing it this year(not sure if they are) then it's coming from the Tennessee vendor.

If you look back at some of the pics Lee posted of the custom RZ2 / RZ4 teak platform, they came from this manufacturer. That was not authorized by Tige. Lee just had it made as a one off for one of his customers.

      Lucky275,
You would think tige would check its products before they put it on the boat. Were the platforms built to a specification checked that material met the specs? By the way, we had the first "teak" platform replaced and the one we got is about 7 to 8% smaller.

        gman,

I'll tell ya, after the boats I've had, I don't take it for granted that the manufacturer inspects anything before it leaves the plant. I've found screws, nuts, bolts, loose tower, muddy foot prints, tower speaker cable that was 3 feet too short, etc. I normally just go over it with a fine tooth comb, then again when I hit the lake. There is no way I would have known about a shoddy fitting on a gas tank, though.

I can see the design flaw in my platform. There is a 2 in gap between the transom attached brace , and the brace that runs across the back of the platform. The knuckleheads should have made the two overlap. Now my platform is starting to sag at the gap.

Teak is still an 08 option.

My dealers service manager will see if he can get my fake teak swapped for fiberglass. I don't want to be fubar in a few years with Irocko wood.

So glad I had my "teak" platform swapped out for FG. Teak is such a PITA......

our 2005 24v had the same issue of nuts, washers, screws, bolts, all over the bottom of engine compartment. I bet we took out at least a dozen screws and bolts, and a handful of washers and nuts. Don't know if they were for something or not. About three months ago we came across a bad situtation on our trans with only two bolts holding it down ( need 4) and nuts were about to come off. Replaced the two and put the other required ones in and used lock washers behind the nuts. Check yours to be sure you do not have the same issue.
