    09' price increase %

K guys since you guys were asking, the pricing has increased by almost exactly 9%.

Of course, we still haven't got my stupid 09' built and totally priced out yet... but that's what my dealer has said he's seeing.

SInce I am kind of stupid....that means that a boat that was 60K in 08, is now 65.4K in 09?

    OUCH!

Every single thing a person buys from food to gas to boats has gone up in price, except for pay.
    Be excellent to one another.

mt1415 said that he already order his 2009 22Ve and it will be there in 2 weeks.

Yep already saw that. That's not the hold up on mine. Of course part of the 9% increase is also including the alpha Z tower and not the old tower like he's ordering.

I won't be able to give you an exact comparison to my 08' we had priced out 3 weeks ago as I'm trying to make the dealer work with me since I held off for the 09' as per my choice and his urging.

I don't see how boats can keep going up 5-10% every year. At this pace prices will be twice as much in 2017. Imagine paying $110,000 for a decent wakeboard boat. I don't see it happening. As for the auto industry, they aren't having any significant price increases going into 09, but will be offering more standard features like TPMS.

I am ok with these price increases because I am not in the market for a new boat and I think it helps hold the value of my 2007 but I think overall it hurts the industry more than it helps.

I will say this... I don't know what industry you guys are in and how much access you have to rising costs of materials, but Tige is eating some of the increase if 9% is all they are going up. Resin's, fiberglass, wiring, all have skyyyyyyyy rocketed! Wiring alone has gone up nearly 300% in less than a year. Then there's the cost of aluminum (tower). The cost of materials for the towers alone will cost about $500-$800 more than last year. Then you figure in the price increase of going to PCM from Marine Power.

If anybody pays MSRP or even close for one of these boats, I feel horrible for them. Boat dealers will have to wheel and deal more than SUV dealers at this point just to make a sale. If people can't afford their HOUSES, they won't be in the market for a 60k+ BOAT.

I would have said that, but apparently boat sales through the dealers are stronger this year than at the same time last year (heard this through 4 different dealers). But January through May was VERY slow. So things should equal out.

My new home sales are double what they were this time last year.

One thing on boats is you will see less of the young kids with boats. As financing has tightened MAJORLY! So this could have an effect on inboard sales. Not really sure how much of the market these kids make up.

I heard that they are selling new boats just the same as last year....

New used boat market has gone down almost to a halt! People are getting sweet deals on new boats.
