I noticed after last weekends trip to the lake I have a really pungent smell coming from the engine compartment area, any ideas? May just be tranny oil smell.

Definately could be cat spray! Where do you store your boat?
Could also be mold/mildew. I always leave my hatch and seats open for about 2 days after I get back from the lake. Every time. Let that sucker air out!Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

I had a weird issue that I can't figure out that happened when on vacation down on Bull Shoals.
For some unknown reason we found a wet area in the bow area on the port side by the cupholders. We did not take water in from the bow and nobody went up front when wet not even my Labs. On this trip they were not allowed to swim off the boat with the mild weather.
We spotted the wet spot on Wednesday and when we headed home Saturday it was still wet and was beginning to stink.
12 hours later when I got home from the drive back home and uncovered it was still wet and reeked. I pulled the cover and the bow cushions off and could not find water underneath the seats. Right now I am stumped as to how the water got there and why it did not dry in 4 days?
The carpet is now musty and I need to check bow storage to see if it decided to mold up. The boat is in my garage and is dry with the bow cover off and the seat bottoms taken out. Any ideas?

Kinda off and on the topic here but evertime we go out we usually end up with the front of the boat wet (all under the front seats and leaks out into the front walkway) even without dunking the bow... We ride alot of weight it my boat and the front eye is under the water all the time at idle with the dock lights under most of the time is this where my leaks coming from or?? Anyone ride enough weight in the front to sink the dock lights? if so do u have the same problem?

Has anyone experienced leak from bow eye? my Nav lights never got that low but at the dock the bow eye was under the water. I can't think of where else a few cup fulls of water kept coming in from?

1lab, you do need to check the bolts on all tie downs and make sure they are tight. My back port side tie down was lose and caused a gel coat and fiberglass damage that I just had my dealer take care of. The fiberglass was under warranty and the gel coat crack I had to pay for. Other than that, the fins are definitely bolted down and "glued" to the hull. However, a cup of two of water isn't much to worry about but again, my boat was sitting in the lake during my camping trip last weekend for 72 hours and I didn't have more than 1/4 cup of water.

There was a thread on here a while back about the cat pee smell in new boats. I believe the conclusion of all that was to let it air out. I sprayed some odor remover on my carpet called odoban, it's completely organic and neutral, didn't foam or bleach the carpet at all, like a gentler febreeze. It seemed to help a bit as the smell went away in about three months.

My carpet is always wet since I have 3 soft sacs that I fill manually. I just air out the compartments whenever I put it away and it works fine.

Matt, how is it that you'ru our fearless leader and don't have a automatic ballast system in you RZ2????Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein
