$100 per light is still too much. All they do is light up water. Where's the function? Zero function. $50 would be my "pain threshold," any more expensive than that and I'll just make them myself.....like I did and wouldn't do again. They serve no function and are rarely visible in our water here.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Home improvement stores sell halogen submersible lamps for landscaping ponds. They are in the landscape lighting section and are 12-volt. Attach a set to yout TAPS plate and see what you think?

IF red was an option i would be interested. Guess i'll have to go Bullet Lines.

I mentioned red to the builder and he said he would talk to cree about the other colors. The nice thing about these is the way they spread the light out as opposed to the round style. They also have 10 leds and are serviceable, as compared to the abyss or bulletlines lights. I'm not knocking them though, as they are nice for the price, just pointing out differences. Putting mine on tonight, I'll get some shots this weekend for you guys.

I corresponded with Ken about doing a group buy, but he does not have them yet. He was willing to give us a break based on the volume, but it was not a huge break. Something is better than nothing.

I told him that I would not want to do the group buy until I had seen it in person and hoped he would let me buy one first, install it and show pics so that we would know of how effective they are.

The specs on his looked good and seemed to be as bright as the abyss lights.

              Jason,

I would be willing to guarantee that you do not have near the potency (number of lumens) as the abyss lights have. I cannot find anything that bright anywhere. I think the water really eats up the brightness and these need to be brighter than you would think.

              Mtn,

I am still in line for one of your homie's lights when he has them ready, unless the delay is unacceptable, then I might go ahead and try one of the Bullet lines.
              Be excellent to one another.

                .
I think you'd retract that statement if you stood behind the boat on the trailer while they are on. They seriously cause pain in the eyes if you look straight at them--no joke. They also light up the entire ramp area if I leave them on while the boat comes out of the water. I could have made them slightly brighter by putting a higher current to them (smaller resistors) but that means more heat and more likelihood of failure.

Also, mine are green. Green does not have the potency of the white--not even close. I don't have a clue what the rated lumens are though.

The biggest factor is that mine are pretty obtrusive/ugly where the fit, finish and size of the abyss lights are awesome.

Mine only cost 30$ total and about 10 hours of time though. It was a fun project I did to learn something new--wouldn't do it again

I know I said I'd get some pictures of the lights on the tige but since the wonderful hurricane Gustav in the gulf has given us 25-30 mph winds and 6-8 ft rollers with the accompanying craft advisories, no pictures at this moment. We are going to try to get out this week someday in the afternoon/evening, hopefully we can get some shots then. I love hurricane season!!!

Well here are some shots of the blue lights finally, they are very cool and I was totally stoked to finally get them on. My friend's have led's, boards, and housings on order right now and will be assembling as soon as possible.

I mounted them like this just with velcro, they can be mounted completely horizontal as well.

                    At the dock

I know it's a little blurry, but the way the spray and prop wash gets lit up is awesome!

Flash on, but you can still see that they are lighting up the water, they are nice and bright.

I'll get an eta from him soon and pass it on with other detail also. I know they are working on a website right now also.

That trailer is nothing... mine is 3X as bad. I just bit the bullet and used the rust neutralizer and cold galvanizing spray to stop the bloodletting last weekend.

Thanks for the light comments and your patience. I'll let my buddy know he needs to get some made pronto! He actually knows this as we have had several people talk to us from other boats already that really want them too. On the trailer, I plan to get an aluminum one this year. I tried to sell it right when we bought the boat knowing it wouldn't last but since it is not adjustable, I got no takers.
