We used to hit lake Mojave quite a bit. Kathryns Landing is nice but gets real crowded and vary hard to find good water unless you are out early and the wind is down.
Cottonwood cove is 20-25 miles up the lake and tends to be a better part of the lake with more beaches and small coves.
Let me know if you have any more spacific questions.

I have found that the water next to the dam is the best late in the day (south of Katherine’s landing), ( anything after 10am) also the wind mostly blows north, so you do not want to be to far north of the dock aft 1pm ( I have seen 3-4 foot swells on that lake)

Keep your eye on the sky. I have seen a nice day turn into a really bad storm in just a few hours. The docks get really crazy; as everybody is try to get off the water at the same time. (If you wait it out, they usually only last an hour or two)
Tige, it's a way of life!
