I like the ballast gauge idea. I forgot my tanks were filled and raise my boat on my lift. One of the cables snapped from the weight (it was rusted also). Nothing like seeing / hearing / feeling your boat drop a foot into the water.

Also,None of this "Tiges do not need ballast" business.
They do produce a nice wake without, perhaps the best without ballast. But ballast is definably needed, IMO

Unfortunately, I doubt there will be a price decrease, regardless of lower demand. I wouldn't even expect prices to stay the same. One problem is that the majority of materials, fiberglass, resin, vinyl, even canvas are all petroleum based products. You know where those prices have gone lately, through the roof. Each year engine manufacturers are notorious for raising their engine prices to boat companies; they have increased costs for labor, parts and especially transportation. That usually can translate to a 4-6% increase on dealer cost. I understand it costs boat manufacturers about the same for materials, drives, engines and so on. I've been told it doesn't cost much less for Tige to build their boats than Mastercraft or Malibu. The only answer in lowering costs is make the boat with cheaper materials, less features, cut production and labor costs or other overhead expenses. It's interesting, all the boat manufacturers have their set profit margins they work on. They get their price from the dealer and the dealer is left trying to make some kind of profit to run a business. I would love to have a business like the manufacturers have where I know I have a solid, set profit margin that I don't have to discount. Sounds like a good deal. Anyway, we would love to see Tige have lower or better prices so we could gain market share. We have talked to Tige about that, and despite the idea of lower prices to increase demand, I don't think that's ever going to happen.

the integrated ballast system was on my boat when I purchased it.If its not fun, Why do it?

Being a dealer, you must have an idea of the price increase coming forth for 09 and the new designs. Can you tell us?
As someone mentioned, it's not a bad thing as it will increase the value of used boats for sale. based on what you said, do you think it will be more then a 10% increase on cost to you? ( this is a random number as I have no clue what true cost is on any of the boats) but lets assume a RZ2 fully loaded was 50K in 08 dealer cost, are you expecting it to jump to $55K with the 09 price increase? (again just simple example of what 10% looks like on paper)
And are the dealers suppose to pass that increase on or are they going to have to eat it as the # of new boat sales is down?
