    Speedo and Radio remote question?

Ok so last night when we were heading off the water my speedo quit working, i was at like 5 mph when we were going at least 20, the wakeboard pro said the same thing, so i shut the boat off and then it worked perfect, then i go to turn down the stereo and the driver side remote would not work, shut the boat off, start it again and then it worked, anyone had any of these problems? 2006 20v

Maybe a loose ground somewhere? I'd check behind the gauges to make sure everything's tight. Also, have your batteries checked. Right before mine have died, they start acting funny and causing weird electrical problems.

Yea I think dog has it right. that would be the only thing that could cause both that I can think of unless it is two seperate issues.....

But it is so strange that turning the boat off and restarting corrects it isnt it?

I'm leaning more towards the battery, but you'd be surprised how quirky grounding issues are.

When you say the remote didn't work, what exactly wan not operating? radio functions? back lighting?

Sounds like a battery voltage problem as the stereo and PP have nothing in common but the battery(s)

Now that I think about it, it could be a bad alternator????

Ok here is what happened, a friend had the stereo cranking and i was about to go by a restaraunt next to the channel, well of course i wanted to turn it down and tried to do so using the round dash mounted remote, nothing worked, not power, mute, volume, next, nothing worked so i opened the cubby and and turned it down, thought that was strange so i shut off the boat and then restarted and it worked.

The boat's a little new to have alternator problems. My guess is battery.
