    Weather's got me down....

I am leaving for Lake Powell tonight and the weather is not looking too good.

I have never ever heard of Lake Powell area having a high temp of 77 degrees in the middle of June. You have to freakin' be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get big wind tomorrow and then cooler weather.

We aren't like you tough guys from the North country. I will have to wear the drysuit still at this rate... The kids do not have such luxury, hopefully they will be resilient and toughen up. I am sure we will try and make a good time of it, on the houseboat or on the shore as well. Pristine wakeboard weather we will not have. By the weekend the weather will be much better. About the time we have to take the houseboat back...

The entire spring has been this way. Just when things get a little good, the wind comes in like mad. Must be global warming that is keeping things cooler than average.

Just had to vent a little. Thanks for helping me. I feel better now.
    Be excellent to one another.

We had the same problem as you. we got a houseboat for a week on Shasta about 3 weeks ago. First day we got there it was 95 and calm. The next four barely 80 and really windy all day. White caps by 10am. But you just make the best of it. Good luck
---v^---v^---v^_____---v^---v^ For a second there. I was bored to death!!

Hopefully the weather forecast is wrong... seems like they are wrong a lot. Wouldn't it be nice to have a career where you could be wrong that often and not lose your job? Hope you have a good time.

We've had wind here, too, only we got the blazing heat to go with it. Last week, it torched my yard (I had a sprinkler malfunction). But, if you like warm weather and a refreshingly cool 78 degree water, c'mon down!

Hope your weather works out better.

I understand your frustration since the weather here has also just plain sucked. One good weekend all spring and my daughter graduated with her Masters that weekend so no playing that weekend on the boat.

This weekend upper 80's which was great except for freaking wind, clouds, thunder, rain, and flooding.

We head out end of the week and the forecast where we are heading also sucks but we are going anyway so we don't loose our deposit.

              Good Luck.

I'm sure the whole week won't be bad. One thing for sure at Powell is that it will never follow the forecast exactly. I bet it warms up before the end of the week.

                    Tall,

I only put my boat in the water for 5 minutes to test the new ballast system. You may think that things are bad down south, but we are still freezing up here.

Every time I try to go it is either raining or windy!

Hey tall we were down there last ear the first week on june and it was freezing 70's the whole time and that was when the wind blew all week long. Even the old timers could not believe it.

Must be that global ting I keep hearing about.

                      Good luck and have fun.

This year we are trying the 3rd week in July probably be snowing or 110+ temps

I feel your pain Tall and for that I want to help you ease that pain. Just because you're my friend, I am offering, at no additional cost to you, to take your place on that houseboat, put up with your wife and kids, find a lousy beach to park it at. Set up the anchors, tow your wife and kids on their tubes, boards, skis, or whatever. All you have to do is go into the office, see patients and make sure that there is enough money in the account to pay for the gas. But since this is such a great offer (once in a lifetime) it can't stand forever. Accordingly, the offer will expire at 2:45 pm today, June 9, 2008.

But that is the point...if it is windy and cold, the wife and kids will just coop up in the houseboat and grumble to Dad about how they could have stayed home and had fun instead. And the wife will point out that she was less than 100% involved in the decision to buy in. I will try to lead a positive outlook and we may go for a few hikes too, which would be a nice change of pace as well. I know there are some cool petroglyphs or something somewhere.

I do plan on a tour of the dam, which I remember doing once as a child and thought it was pretty cool, hopefully it still is just as cool.
