    dog I totally agree with you on being nice to them and I tried. these guys were just not a happy bunch. I just tried to talk to them and be nice and get them to explain some of the local laws to me but they were not the talking type.

      Sacramento County and city are about to adopt ordinances making it a misdemeanor for a parent not to have a child wearing a life jacket while on the water. The proposal originally was for all kids under 18, but has apparently been modified to apply to those under 13. This applies to local rivers.

      While my wife and kids saw a man swept downriver to his death at the American River Confluence while wading in ankle deep water attempting to save his dog, I still think we've got enough nanny laws. This one wouldn't have applied to him anyway. (The dog swam out just fine).

        Last week I contacted the Coast Guard Aux and after exchanging a couple of emaiils, the dude is going to come over to my house and inspect the boat for me when our schedules match. My plan is to get the sticker and display it. Hopefully, like 1 Lab, I won't loose daylight on a safety stop.
