    Extreme trailer problem

I have an 05 extreme trailer with the torsion axles.

I noticed the other day that one side of the trailer is sitting lower than the other. At first I thought it was weight in the boat of the boat being closer to one side of the trailer but Im pretty sure now that I look at it something is wrong with my right side rear torsion bar axle. The right side sits a little over than an inch lower but it looks much more severe than that.

    Questions:
Is there anyway to fix it or am I going to need a new axle/trailer?

Is there away way to adjust the axle height? I have looked and the only way I think it would be possible is to take it apart.

I will post pics later today

I was going to use the famous banner but decided it would not be funny.

Is it a torsion link or a torsion bar?

We had a tortion bar break its mount on our MC trailer a few years ago and we had to take it to a custom trailer shop to fix. We were able to put wood blocks between the frame and bad torsion bar mount which allowed us to limp it home slowly. we used cut down landscape timbers and hose clamped them to the frame to hold it up in position so it didn't sag. Ours was dragging on the ground. We had to tow it back to the lake and float the boat and then limp the trailer to the custom trailer house to fix.The left side of the trsiler was lower sort of like you are describing to the point where one of the tires on that side was rubbing the plastic fender and could not roll until we jury rigged it.

Post a close up of the area so we can see if is similar to what we had to do.

      CP3,
I have an '02 Extreme so I'm not sure if we have the same setup. If the torsion bar is not damaged you can easily adjust the ride height. Raise the low side and support the trailer (not axle) on jackstands. Remove the wheels. Use a 3/4" wrench/socket and loosen the trailing arm nut. Mark the spline teeth/bar with a pen for reference as you will want to move the trailing arm down a few teeth. I would try two teeth for starters and reassemble. This preloads the spring a little more and will raise the trailer. You might have to do this several time to get it to match the other side.
Of course if you are trying to lower one side, then you will want to raise the trailing arm a few teeth instead.
      Good luck.

The post did not deserve the banner anyway, Sounds like 3amigos has got you going in the right direction so good luck.

I am guessing you have the UFP axle which is what I have on my 07 Exteme. If that is the case, you can contact Len 760-744-1610 at the factory. They blew me away with their customer service when my dealer was unable to fix my problem.
Based on what I had to do, 3amigos is rirht on the money.

CP3, keep an eye on the axle in question. It very well could be that the suggestion from 3amigoes has resolved the issue, but the axle could have a failed torsion block. Your trailer is probably a tandem, so it may not show up until you tow and hit a bump or something. If it is a failed torsion block, the axle can be replaced. Lyn at UFP (number provided in earlier post) will be happy to help you out.
