I'm just saying kids....... We are in a fundamentally different time as to oil costs and I do not see gas dropping below $4/gal anytime soon. Consumers have shown they will pay $4, so there is no incentive to drop prices. Our expensive toys have got to run on gas, so there will be a shake out between those who will play no matter what the cost, and the rest whose pain threshhold as to gas for our boats and trucks has been reached.
I have to drive 1.5-2 hours to reach a lake. That means $80 for the Tahoe and depending on how long we are on the water, $100 and up for the boat. That's getting to be a lot of coin for a day on the lake. We certainly will be cutting back, but never give up!
With the mortgage crisis (source of a lot of boat $), you will be seeing a lot of nice, used 2-3 year old rigs on the market. There will be some great deals to be had!!
