Well, mine was sold to me with mild cracking, so I made sure they said they would re coat it. Took them 2 years to get it done, but since it was only cosmetic, I didn't care all that much. The re powdercoating quality was WAAAAY better. It was done at a reputable place in VA.

      hahaha

Tige powdercoating sucks arse!!!!!! I have never seen such terrible powdercoating works as they have done. Glad everything worked out for you though

Tige: how is the powdercoating on the new tower??? Hopefully better than what you have provided in the past. Or did someone else do it this time?

I Love my 07 ve extended bimini when its up. getting it there and back is a pain in the neck. and yes it does rattle against the powdercoat and scratch it, I hate that. I actually am working on an idea for a bimini and patent.

It will never be as durable as a tower without powdercoating.

Brining that idea, the new tower would look sic in a brushed aluminum finish. Offer black and brushed aluminum... I think I might have an idea...

Does anyone have a spare $8k that I can have to test my idea out?

This is why I love the Z series tower. No paint to be chipping and such.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

You can get a switchblade for $4k, and then it will even fold down easy.
