Problem with bimini design on 2007Ve

Not sure if anyone else has had this happen to them, but I am not pleased. A couple of weeks ago we got some really heavy rain in our area and water pooled up in my bimini and actually bent/broke a supporrting pole on each side!! The 20 yr old Bayliner next to me showed no ill effects from the rain (bimini wise). Apparently Tige went to a different bimini design in 08, and the canvas would have to be custom cut and sewn as to not interfere with my tower speakers! Just feel like I shouldn't have to come out of pocket for a replacement bimini on a brand new boat due to Tige's poor design.

Do you have the Tige extended bimini? If it's adjusted correctly, it should not really collect any amount of water

Has your dealer just flat denied to warranty it?

Not sure about water issue or whatever, but there is no question, the tige bimini in 2007 was a HORRIBLE design.

I am not complaining about my dealer as he has always been good to me. He just gave me the impression that it might be faster to fix it myself rather than go through Tige. I am more irritated that the design is so bad, and yes I believe mine is the extended version as I hit my head on it getting out of the boat all the time....

Get a custom one made and have it made like you want it.

Nah, I will fix mine with crush sleeves or some thing and be donw with it. I can't see shelling out $500-$1000 for a bimini for a BRAND NEW 70k boat. It's out of principle more than anything...

I am with you, FP. Every time Tige changes towers or biminis it appears that a 7 year old designs the matching part and it comes across as an afterthought. THey are coming out with a brand new tower in 2009 and I am frankly a little scared to get one. History has not been kind. I hear nothing but good things about the new tower, but definitely would want to see it before buying.

My 2005 is very good I think because they did not make any great changes for a couple of years, and were able to get it dialed in just right.

The bimini top on my 2007 22ve pools water and has streatched the fabric. Now it flops in the wind and looks like s#*t. It is a pain in the ars to put up and take down also. VERY POOR design

Anybody else having there 2007 bimini beat up there tower. It has scratched off the entire powder coat and has torn up the bimini poles from rubbing on each other. Has anybody had this warranted? I love the boat I hate the Bimini

Don't know about the bimini but the powdercoat is not a warranty issue.

                          It's a moveable part.

Attempted to have Tige fix the powdercoat on the uprights with the 2006 24Ve and was told by my dealer and Tige that they were not covered.

My dealer had my 2005 22V tower re powdercoated for me under warranty.

Recently? But the uprights were declined on my boat. Would like to claim it on the RZ2 also.
