I take my dogs(4 now) with us all the time on the boat. I am looking for dog booties but for now our nail groomer puts a silicone cap on their nails and they stay off the vinyl. We put a very large towel on the sundeck to let them in and out and have square throw cushions on the seats for them to step on to get in and out. 3 of the 4 are Chocolate Labs and 1 minature Dachsund. They are part of the family and go weekend boating and on week long vacations. I vacumn up all the time and also do a very detailed vacumn out at winterizing and spring pullout. In 14 years with my old Four Winns they never hurt the seats and will be restricted off the vinyl on the 20V like they are on a family Maristar. You gotta luv dogs to take them with. When we are anchored ours will swim around for hours playing fetch and relaxing on swim platform.
Plain and simple they are part of the family.

Oh yeah our golden "Kozmo" is a regular rider. Like many of the others that have posted, the guilt trips and sad looks or pouting after the return trips that he did not accompany us on are terrible. I can't even back the truck up to hook up to the boat with out being busted! Once he sees that, he knows it's on... and he is raring to go.

Here are a couple of pics, one recently on the Ve and the other is his very first boat ride about 4 years ago.

He actually helped us with the surf ballast tonight. He decided to climb up on one of the side sacks we put on the port side seat, he spread out right on top of the sac, perfect positioning for weight placement.

I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

We have triied taking our springer spaniel on the boat but he hates it. Kinda weird as he loves the water and swimming. He likes the swim platform but thats it.He doesnt like the truck ride either.

Biggest Lab 118lbs, is Tessa who lost left eye to glaucoma Darkest coat rear of pic. Smallest lab is Tanna she is a normal 85 lbs and lab with lightest coat right side of pic and the youngest lab Molly at about 107lbs left front of pic. Traveling ballast. Once boat starts moving they go into prone posistion on floor and take a nap until rider dumps or boat stops.

I say no to this face all the time, except on the fishing boat:

I used to let my bulldog in the boat. But I just finished a $3K interior on my boat. No more dog.

The same way I say no to my wife or kids. "No. Ask me again and I'll take away your birthday!!" doesn't work so well with the wife now that she's aging
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Only problem I ever had with her was she peed in Chp's boat HAHA but we cleaned it up
CP3 where did you get the booties?

3 sets for my labs may be pricey but it would be worth every penny.

I know DOM used them also.

Our two pointer dalmation mutts ride with us in the boat on vacation trips. Day trips they stay home. They are sisters and came from the shelter as abused, so they are still getting used to the motion of the boat, as they still think most vehicle rides= trip to the vet!
