i didnt know but my dad already took it to tige and they charged him $330.00

i wanted to just put a keel guard over it. dad said that tige wanted 300 to put a keel guard on.

I was figuring about $350 to fix.

Being on the bottom, I would not have hesitated to fix myself, and not worry about how close it matched...........who's gonna know, the fish?

A keel guard is not a fix--it's a band-aid. From what I've read, when you have exposed FG like that it can absorb water and ruin your hull. I have no idea how long that would take to happen, but why would you spend $30k+ on a boat and then do that to it.

You made the right call, though I think you got rooked on the price--at least it's done and now you can play again.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
