I would attempt that one myself. It isn't too bad.

about 38 bucks...$8 for the kit and $30 for shipping of toxic materials. Call your dealer and ask for the spectrum gel coat repair kit. Subsequent to an oblivious sea ray with stainless rubrail screws protruding, I used it on my red gelcoat and it works like a charm. Just be patient with the sanding and polishing afterwards, and mix the hardener per the included instructions.

FYI, spectrum is the company that makes the gelcoat that Tigé uses (currently and pre-2002). White will be easy for them to match, and they will use the same pigment that was used when your gelcoat was sprayed down.

Get a patch kit from www.spectrumcolor.com and do it yourself.

yeah... mine was worse, and it took me 15 mins to lay down the patch, then about 2 hours of sanding, polishing, and buffing. total investment was about 50 bucks, including up to 2000 grit wet sand paper, and buffing compound. used a flitz ball to buff in the shine.

he might be able to save on shipping if he can get his dealer to have it included in with another shipment.

But that takes forever. I am waiting on Pacific Blue on the 24Ve and have been waiting for 3 weeks for that shipment to come. Glad that I am not using the 24Ve right now.

Is there a reason that you can't just use marine epoxy on something that small?

It would cost me more in gas to drive to the dealer than the $11.13 shipping.

                            a link:

gel coat is SUPER easy. just be patient and follow the instructions included with the gel coat. for that small area you will be fine with the patch paste, don't order a quart unless you absolutely have to.

Spectrum will also provide some phone help if you get stuck, they're really good. You can also PM me and I can probably answer your gel-coat questions.

If you pay to get it done, I would expect that size (depending on how bad/long those scratches are before and after the hole) to be <$250 if htey have to order patch paste to color match or probably closer to $150 if it's a color they have in stock.

                            hope that helps
