    Lets talk FAE.......

I know there have been threads about the Fresh Air Exhaust for a while now, but I am ->this<- close to pulling the trigger on one and have a few questions.

First, is there ANYONE who has done this and regretted it??? I really don't see a downside other than losing the V8 rumble, but I have my Cobra for that.

Secondly, does anyone have this system on a 2007 24Ve with FG platform?? It is not listed on their site, and while I could take my own measurements, it would be easier if someone else had them already.

Lastly, is there any chance we could get a group buy going? I know 2 other people (not on this board) that are looking to buy now, so I wonder how many more may get us a GB discount.

I don't fit in those buckets but I have one on my 22ve Teak Platform and like it a lot. I really like that I was able to get Stainless Steel Polished on mine. No real negatives to me. Less noise and fumes at low speeds. I would recommend it.

Ok I love mine. I would recommend doing your own measurments as while minimal it appears that the exhaust ports are not in the exact same position on the same boats. It only takes 5 minutes to measure.
      Let it be!!!

I can't imagine not having one on my boat. As for the 24Ve, I'd just contact Larry and talk to him. He's very honest. Even if he hasn't done one, he'll work with you to get the right measurements so you can have a trouble-free install.

1st: NO regret at all, wish i'd gotten in on the first group buy and not waited till 2nd.

2nd: 06 22Ve with F/G platform....should be same as your 24. Larry Mann should have those measurements down to a "T".

3rd: Call and ask, cant hurt.

Thanks for the replies everybody! I am convinced it is a necessity for wakesurfing now. It's just not worth exposing my family to unneccessary exhaust fumes, plus I am sure the Wetsounds will sound that much cleaner!!

Well, it's not really a necessity for wakesurfing, but you'll find yourself in the same boat as chpthril soon enough. If you want to hear exhaust get a Harley.

I pretty much now consider it a must have for wakesurfing. Looking at the before and after CO readings, I just wouldn't want my family inhaling that kind of crap for extended periods of time. Since we plan on doing a LOT of wakesurfing this summer, it now looks to be a no brainer.

Like I said earlier, if I want to hear exhaust, I'll fire up the Cobra!

Won't sound any cleaner but they will sound louder for sure.

After surfing all last season behind mine with the FAE, and then surfing behind TRD's this past Monday..............I could not believe the difference in the smellable fumes

I put it on my 07 24ve last year. It is a must for surfing and the reduction in engine noise is great.
A 5 min phone conversation with Larry Mann was all it took to get it right. I never took any measurements.
