Unless you are barefooting, one or two mph at those speeds shouldn't matter. FAE sounds like a great investment, even without surfing it would be nice to have the boat a bit quieter.

I think Larry made an adjustment to lengthen the pipes coming off the back so it would cause less interference, but I do believe they all at a slight angle now. I would think you'd want the cross-pipe to be out of the water and not slowing you down.

As for the looks, who cares. It just looks different. Do you climb under your car to see what it looks like from underneath?

Well, I ordered mine this morning and can't wait to install it. My buddy has a 24Ve also with the same motor so we will be able to compare back to back and side by side. I am sure he will order one also when he hears how much quieter it is. Oh, and also ordered a Wetsounds WS-420!!!! It's like x-mas in May!!

I was actually wondering about difference in the low end moreso than top speed...

jim, is that a single downpipe set up?

Faceplant - is there a website where you ordered. I know the quieter exhaust would be a big winner with she-who-must-be-obeyed.

The 420 is the icing to any Wetsounds system. You just need to keep the kids off the Mic.

I wonder how that affects the stock ballast pickup for the rear transom hole ? Also has anyone noticed a difference in the wakeboarding wake with 2000 lbs + in their boat?

Not at all since there's no obstruction to water flow.

I think our max ballast is about 1500 lbs. + people. It does make a difference. My son said it was better than some of the X-Stars he's ridden behind.

We are the same at about 1,300 lbs. and the difference is huge. I am still not use to going up rather than across.

I Cut the cross bar to fit snugly between the swim step brackets where I wanted it placed, I then marked and drilled holes parallel to the to the swim step, I then ran ss bolts from the outside in, on each bracket, and tightened 3 nuts on the inside of each bracket. I wraped a little duct tape around the 3 nuts so they fit snuggly in the square tube cross bar. I then removed 1 bracket from the swim step and the boat so I could slide the bolts with nuts inside each end of the cross bar. Once I reattached the bracket to the swim step with the cross bar in between the brackets, the cross bar was locked in place and has been solid for about 70 hrs.
A pic would be worth a thousand words if I had one.

We have had up to about 2500 lbs when wake boarding and the wake is large but not to lippy. You need to be at 23 mph or faster to keep it clean on both sides.
We prefer about 1500 lbs when we wakeboard.
No issue at all with the AFE at any wt. and we have been up to 3000lbs so far.

ok, I'm a little late to this post, but I also could not imagine owning a boat without one. I really don't care about losing the 1-2mph top end, I don't race

I have noticed no loss of power, and very little change in the wake. The benefit is huge. As for the install, pretty easy, just make sure you get the hose clamps cranked down.

                                Here's a pic of mine.
