Now that would have been the best part of the trip. You didn't have to explain anything to him since he witnessed it.

Guy's I have access to a guy who straightens the shafts with in .001 if you bend them. So if you replace you shafts send me your old ones so I can get he straightened. He charges about $80.00.

And has invested in all the correct equipment to do it right. He has the computer and all. He will tell you if he can fix the prop or not. He guarantees the prop repair will not vibrate or he will replace it for free with a new prop.

Where are you located? I am not sure if the shaft is bent or not. I have to get a prop on and get it out into the water before it bends to see if the vibration remains. Am concerned that shipping might be prohibitive...

Yeah, I havent had much success with that. Boat is big and heavy and does not want to float off. Other issue is that I am towing/launching it with a Ford Explorer and the tailpipe is quite low AND of course the ramp is long and shallow.

I cant get the trailer in far enough where all the bunks are submerged.

You can back it up so the tailpipe is under water--it won't hurt it. Just make sure you keep it running and the pressure of the exhaust will keep the water from doing any damage at all. I dip mine WAY in--almost to the rear tires sometimes- and never had any sort of trouble in anyway. The boat floats on and off easily then. Once in awhile I'll get a guy telling me (in a helpful manner) that I'm going in too deep, but I ignore them and do my thing.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Just have the truck in reverse and when the boat begins to float put the brakes on. The momentum will be more than enough to put you peacefully in the water without having to put the boat into reverse.

Thanks for that information. I have been doing the crazy thing of going in reverse with the truck and hitting the breaks... not too fun!

I guess worst case is that I might get the Explorer floating.
