    Towing a Supra

Well, I had several highlights of the weekend but I must say that the biggest was towing a Supra back to the docks. Considering I almost bought a Supra instead of a Tige this really made me chuckle...
Then to add insult to injury I blasted them out with some extremely loud Chevelle... needles to say it was a great weekend.

    Your dream has come true.

I'm still waiting to pull a MC into the docks.

Been there done that, Not with my Tige (I haven't gotten her on the water yet) but with a lowly little 190php FourWinns 180SE.

We towed MC,MB,Moomba,Supra and Ski Centurion. I never had the pleasure of towing a Tige or a Corect Craft, IMO a Moomba towed the straightest and the easiest because it did not plow.

Unfortunately In the 14 years that I had that boat I was only towed once when my wife who only looks at her charge card balance gauge burned up my top end and had to be towed in. The temp gauge was fine. So was billowing white cloud of smoke trailing behind her.

I fixed the old boat and used her for a couple of more years before I decided to upgrade to a 20V. They really have to make garages deeper

Hey, odds are we'll all get towed some day and you never know who you might meet.

True story. One day we're out getting a weekday evening session in and I cruise by this Malibu just floating. As we passed it again, I see the guys out there paddling their Malibu with a wakeskate. So, much to my one son's chagrin, I stopped and asked them if they were ok. They said they would appreciate a tow, so we towed them a couple of miles to their dock. They offered me some money which I politely refused. The driver then told me he'd love to come out and ride my Tige some day because of the awesome wake we had going.

It turns out it was Oury Yarbrough. We saw him two days later at a Wake-the-Lake competition where both my kids were entered, one in wakebaording and the other in wakeskating. My wakeskater is very self-conscious and shy, so it took a lot for him to compete. So, Oury walks up to us and thanks us again and I tell him that my son is competing against him. He then takes him under his wing and asks if he wants to come hang out with him and his friends. My son was so excited.

Anyway, Oury smoked the competition pulling some killer tricks like wake-to-wake kick flips, wake-to-wake 360s, etc. I was amazed...I didn't even know you could do stuff like that. Take a look at the video, he's the second rider, the first rider was also in the boat when we towed him.

So, play it cool and don't gloat too much. Who knows, maybe you'll be picking up a pro some day and get some free lessons.

I wish I had a picture of it, but last summer my dad towed a brand spankin' new x-star to the dock...with his 13' RIB. I guess he saw them when he was just out for a joy ride as a storm was rolling in so they flagged him down and begged him for a tow as the towboat they called was about 45 minutes from being able to respond to them. He said they got a lot of laughter and horn honks being towed to the ramp by a dinghy with the outboard firewalled. There is an area called Ego Alley, appropriately named, and he really wanted to go through there but figured it would be just mean.

Awesome! I've only had to get towed once, but that was my '93 Tige. Luckily, another Tige towed me back!

Doesn't using the ski pylon to tow a dead boat exceed the limitations of the pylon? I think I remember a 350# tow limit??

On my boat you can pick it up by the pylon, but I agree, use the lift rings in the back of the boat.

True but on your model the pylon was built with steel braces and was built in to the engine mounts. Not sure why Tige no longer does this on the new models.

One thing I don't like on my RZ2.

We rescued a damsel in distress and her dog last week as she was being blown down the lake in her canoe. The sad part was she didn't flag us down as we went by but fortunately I bothered to go around and check anyway. I think she put single-woman-out-alone fear ahead of the immediate situation she faced. She'd have had real problems as we were the only power boat out there that day and she was in a steep and wooded part of the lake.

I was proud of my boy when he took the initiative to dive in and swim the line to her and threaded it through the bow of her canoe so it'd tow straight. You gotta love a Life Scout who's headed for Eagle.
