    It otta be a law

that stupid people have to wear signs that say "I'm stupid". That way when they go to a boat dealer and say I want to buy a boat, the salesman can just point to their sign and say "I'm sorry, I can't sell you a boat because you are stupid". Then we could keep all the stupid people off the lakes. That being said, nothing makes me madder than an idiot on the lake that thinks it is ok to come within 50 feet of my boat, cut me off when I have no where to turn except to pull my boarder in front of their pontoon boat and the other boat that had to tear up the only good water pulling his tube around in circles right in the middle. Main lake was 30 seconds away! Can you tell it was a holiday weekend at the lake. Boy, I feel better now.

Reason #1 to stay off the lake during this holiday. The next one is the 4th of July weekend. That is going to be a mad house.

      Glad that everyone was safe.

I know what you mean. Our lake is pretty deserted most holiday weekends, but this time it was definitely more crowded. I made it a point to get to know most of the lake patrol guys (Sheriff's Dept, LCRA & Game Warden). They actually do a good job staying on top of the idiots. They all know my boat. That said, you still get the occasional moron who defies all rational behavior.

Last year, some guy came so close he almost swamped my boat. We were picking up a rider while wakesurfing and he kept circling us on a tube. When we tried to wave him away, he went ballistic. We're talking a wide open lake that's 23,000 acres with maybe a 100 boats on it. We were out in the middle away from all the other boats. I told him I didn't appreciate his barrage of profanity and that he is responsible for the damage his wake causes. I was just about to call the game warden when his wife made him stop and move on. Our kids were older, so it wasn't too bad, but he had a bunch of little ones in the boat. All we did was try to wave him off because he was too close. Wow!

I had 4 nieces and nephews that we were teaching how to board. It is hard enough for them without all the extra waves. They though is was funny how upset I got at the one guy. They had never seen me that mad before. I explained that when it comes to their safety, it doesn't take much to get me riled up. Used it as a teaching moment about boat safety and the proper way to have good road manners. We had been tubing, but in the middle of the lake where it was too rough to ski or board. Still had the tube on the back of the boat.
Too bad common courtesy is common any more.

The salesman would just see the shirt and think, "I could get an extra 5K out of this guy".

The lake near my house is pretty small and they bouyed off maybe 1/5 of it specifically for towing. But every moron not towing seems to feel the need to drive around in that 1/5 of the lake and cut you off. Drives me nuts.

On the kaskaskia river where we spend most of our time, the boaters think its nice to slow down when they pass us while were switching riders. And ofcourse they slow down to about 10-15mph making the largest wake possible.

What chaps my *** is at P.K. all these people turn their kids loose on jet skis and when your boarding or tubing with a big wake they just follow along right behind the rider jumping the wake. I have really bad road rage so you can imagine what it's like on the lake. I go apeshyte. True story, had my brother behind the boat getting ready to slalom. I was watching the rope in the mirror to know when to cut throttle. He says,"lets go"! Thankfully I looked in front of me before just nailing the gas because some old man pulling his grandkids on a tube at idle was right in front of my boat a 90 degree. This should give you and idea of how close he was. I instantly got a rage, (being a former Marine) i keep a K-bar knife the boat hanging under the dash. Grabed it, dove off my bow right into his tube main line, cut it, got back in the boat and went skiing. And to top it off, since he was the only one in the boat.........never new he was missing his riders. He found out cause his family was screaming from the dock to look back. lol That was great. Eye for an Eye I say....!!!!!!!!1 ha ha.

Remind me not to go tubing around rogersbm82

I hate these douche bags that do power turns when they turn around to get their skier...

And the douche bags on sea-doos or jet skis that try and jump your wake while your towing someone.

Yeah, last year I was tubing some kids and lost a rider who was just 5 years old. Some teens on a jetski came within a foot or two of running him over. I found out where they were from and found their parents to let them know what happened.

Whats worse is when you have boats following you when your towing!!!!

We have had that happen a few times as well, scary.

I had a jet ski spray me while I was on the swim platform putting on my board yesterday. The were within 10 feet of my boat, which had 5 boat owners on it. Everyone went nuts.

One of my neighbors was like that. One day, while he was splashing us while we were tied up near shore, I straddled the front of my stand-up jetski so that the entire jet was out of the water and the front of it was resting against my thighs and hit the throttle as he was driving by. A wall of water hit him in the chest so hard that it knocked the wind out of him and separated him from his jetski. That was the last time he came and splashed us....ever.
