The Castle Rock Cutoff is where the yellow circle is. The green line is the high water line. The red box is Antelope marina. The light Blue box is Wahweap marina.

The city of Page is at the bottom of the picture.

If the cutoff is open (and it should be by 6/21) to go up the lake it is best to leave from Wahweap. If it is not, it would be best to leave from Antelope.

If you would like to monitor the water level go to this link:

      http://lakepowell.water-data.com/

If you would like the best map available of Lake Powell (IMHO) go to this link:

      http://www.lakepowellmag.com/

That magazine can be bought at any store in page. The maps are very detailed which is why they are on many pages.

talk about memories, the last time I was in Powell was 15 or so years ago, we used to ski in that cove that now is the cutoff, in fact the first time I got up on one ski was in that cove. I was using an old wooden (yellow) ski. It was probably 20 years ago. 17 or so years ago, we were able to pull 5 skiers up at once (4 slalom, and 1 combo). This was with an I/O. I wonder how many my Tige would pull?

Thanks for all the info, but I am having a small problem ( or I am just an ideit ). How can get those maps?
I have looked all over that page, and I see no link to purchase or no way to down load.
          HELP please
          Thanks

I will be in cell phone range. However, I will be launching out of Bullfrog on this trip. I assume that you will be out Wahweap or Antelope? I still have your number!

The maps that I refered to are contained within each issue of "Lake Powell magazine". You can buy that magazine once you get to Page, or if you want them sooner I would follow the "contact us" link, that will give you an 800 number that you could call and ask them what the best way would be for you to get a copy of their magazine before you get there.

(edit) Here is the direct link to the contacts page:

I thought you had just got a houseboat at Wahweap? Did I misremember?

I guess it would be a long trip to hook up in the middle somewhere....

Six feet to go. My guess is that it will be where it needs to be by June 8.

No, my boat is in a covered slip in Bull Frog. But, we may be down Wahweap way June 25th -28th with the Ventures.

Less than 6 feet to go. Looks like another year that I will not make it to Powell.
                        Let it be!!!

Wish some of that water would flow to my local lake. We are still 40 feet below the max level.

We will be there at that time, with the same group of young men. I might be looking for an escape route. Will you be in a houseboat, hotel, or camping?

Hopefully, the leaders on a houseboat and the young men in tents One of our advisors has a houseboat there, otherwise, we will be camping.
