    Tige responds

Tige has respoded to my email questions about seat warranty. They will SELL skins at a discount or send me fabric to have the seats recovered. I am not happy with this warranty. Does Chevy, when your paint needs warranty work, send you a gallon of paint? I thought the interior was covered by a five year warranty? Can anyone help?

I am not speaking on behalf of Tige but did your seats tear at the seams? If so, I am not sure if that falls under the stiching warranty, which is one year. I know the vinyl itself has a five year warranty.

Have you checked the warranties on the downloads section?

I guess I need to go check my seats. I haven't noticed anything yet and I have over 110 hours on my 03.

i have an 04 22v riders and ive had the boat since august this year and im already having vinyl issues and seams blowing on me. i use this boat alot, since i got it i have put over 100 hours on it, but i think that these issues shouldnt come to light for years. i have owned 4 other boats and never had these problems so early. This is just one of many little details of things that were wrong with my boat after recieving it under conditions of purchase that it was "lake ready".

Gardyloo03 That sure isn't good news to hear, I have a 2004 22V as well and the seams are fine.

              gitair,

sounds like the atascadero dealer did do you wrong. but, atascadero is actually central california, not southern california.

if you need any help call me in so. ca.

I have a 03 22v with 180 hours on it. And I am not gentle with crawling in and out of it. I have had no problems with seams tearing on my interior. However, I was told by my dealer, thats the reason for the new split seat design. He told me its caused from stepping in and out of the boat and standing on the seam.

I wouldnt say that the design was bad. I think that it just may be a week area. Try not standing on the seats. Step all the way in the boat.

I know this not much help to those of you with these issues, but Tige has taken steps to help with this problem. Take a look at the 05 seat design, it should be very difficult to rip the seats at the seams.

                    tearing seats

I thought my '97 22V was bad as the seats just started tearing with almost 500hrs. on the boat! I feel lucky now! I am the original owner and the boat has always been garaged.
BTW, I absolutely love my TIGE'! Other than the 10 year old vinyl tearing, (and the pos gauges), I've had no problems!
Does anyone know where I can get replacement skins for a decent price? I contacted my local dealer and they wanted $1,500.00 just for the rear seat covers and the engine cover. No labor was included in that quote. thanks

                      tearing vinyl

The vinyl is just starting to tear in my '97 22V with 500hrs. Does anyone know of a reasonable place to purchase replacement skins? I called my local dealer and they wanted $1,500.00 just for the rear seat covers and the engine cover. No labor included.
BTW, I love my Tige' I am the original owner and have had only two problems. The pos gauges and the pos adjustment for the shaft that enters the water. After having those replaced years ago, I've had absolutely no other isues.

My 04' is splitting at the seams also. At first it was only one seat, the corner behind the driver, but at the end of last season it got worse and the other side started splitting. I did a full detail on the boat this weekend (since all the damn lakes are closed in Austin) and really got to take a look at it and it really has me worried. I would argue this is still a workmanship vinyl issue as that is what is tearing, not the seams. Either way I agree that the seats were overstuffed and that is the real root cause. They are comfortable, that is for sure. I am going to contact Tige on this also to see if this is covered under the 5 year vinyl warranty. Still love my Tige, especially now that I got it all cleaned up and looking pretty!

Mine started having the same issue last season. The real problem is that there's stitching on the seat cushion and when people step into the boat, it's hard on the seats. The RZ2 & Ves now have reversible cushions in the corners to avoid that. I'm thinking of taking out my center back cushion and putting gatorgrip on the fiberglass underneath so when people do step into the boat, they step down on that instead of my cushions.

My front cushions have no seams in the middle and they are in great shape even tho most people step into my boat from the front when we pick them up from the dock. So it's really just riders/swimmers coming over the back sundeck that's causing the problem.

AustinSouthSide, Charlie at the Ski Dock says they have an upholstry guy who does really nice work and can match whatever you have and it will be better quality. He said to wait until the winter time when the guy's desparate for business to save money.

I'll bet I know exactly where- in the back, right were the edge roll meets the main panel area? I believe theres a dark silverish color on the roll in part of this area. I took one look at that and it had 2003-2004 written all over it. You'd think Tigé would learn to double stitch this seam.
