These forums are very useful when if comes to talking about problems. As you all have mentioned, every boat is going to have problems. I've got almost 450 hours on my 03' 22v (Bought end of May 03) and I've had my share of problems, but my dealer has ALWAYS work with me on schedule and gotten me back on the water ASAP.

Ultimately I think your perception of a boat's quality comes down to the dealer. Tige builds a quality boat, but all boats have their problems. The Ski Dock here in Austin has provided me the best customer experience I've every had with ANY product. I can see that Tige is always looking to improve their product but I hope they also focus on making sure they have good dealers representing their products. It can go a LONG way!!

    Thanks Ski Dock and Tige!

Thanks blr, I don't know about matt but I try to help you all on my own time. As I write, my wife and baby are sleeping and I should be also.
I don't own a tige and probably never will, due to no time to use it but I do care about the tige name and ALL of the owners. One thing everybody needs to understand is, boats are built 100% by hand. No robots, very little computers and the people that actually do build them are the same people you would probably not give a hand to if seen broken down in a rain storm. I guess what I am saying is there are no perfect products, that is why manufactures offer warranties. If you feel that you honestly have a problem that should be a warranty item and your dealer will not go to bat for you then shame on the dealer. Harvey and Andrew are by far the best people I have ever worked with when it comes to keepng the customer happy. It is a give and take between the dealer and manufacture. The boat owner should not have to call Tige Inc. Remember who you paid for your boat and make them earn your business.
As for paying so much money for the boat and not being happy with the quality you the consumer, that is willing to pay 40-50k for fiberglass and a motor should step back and look at the big picture, as long as you pay it they will charge it.

Thanks blr. I cant give knowledgeable advice like the dealers such as Greg (Tige MD) and lee but I can give them the opportunity to help solve and answer multiple Tigé owners questions and concerns.

Sorry, my apologies Harvey, I forgot to mention you as well. You guys all rock and provide a great service to Tige owners and porpects. The sleep thing is a whole different story, if your like me you have excepted that you will catch up on all your missed sleep when you take the big dirt nap

I also think that if you look at the quality and functionality you get for the price of a Tige, you would get far less in any other manufacturer's product.

rmarion - not sure what boat/motor you have but if you don't have one already, you should try gassing up a 375hp 6.0l a few times, I think mine breaths fuel, and fuel. Not sure that air ever enters the mixture

Can you have a negative 20! Tige does not stand behind there products - PERIOD. I have had two and the first was fine, my 2012 Z3 is a piece of crap! I have had to have the seat replaced 3 times with them and the last set is two seasons in and falling apart again. I had to pay to ship the boat back to the for this last set costing me $1000 and a ton of time. I found a local upholster to do them right this time for less that $5700 with material that will last and they are refusing to pay for it. Yes the boat is 6 years old, but the seats are only two years old and should last many years. Everyone that I talk to says they where put together poorly, with no re-enforcement at the seam and the material is sub par. They are forcing me to sue them and I will. If you are having similar problems feel free to reach out to me at jeff@RMRM.net.
Be sure to shop elsewhere for a boat $80+ for a Tige! You mine as well buy a Bayliner. There dealers are jerks as well, unprofessional and complete lairs. Performance Marine in Osage Beach made this the worst experience ever, with poor service and the owner is a complete thug!

It is a 2012 boat. So it seems his complaint is that the seats were designed poorly so that the vinyl is destined to fall apart. Even the vinyl that was done 2 years ago at the factory has now fallen apart. Some pics might be cool.

I hope that @Jeff143 is not his dealer, as it might make me more likely to believe some parts of this story.
                        Be excellent to one another.

betting there's a whole lot more to this story than the rant from the poster above. that many sets of seat skins in such a short time doesn't add up.
I would bet Tige/Performance Marine would be glad to get this guy off the books and let him enjoy another brand of boat.

and yes, ttg, it would look like Jeff has worked there in the past based on his posts. not sure about now but guessing yes. betting the owner doesn't know and would hope he doesn't condone that kind of post. not professional at all.

yeah, I missed hitting the "6" in my reply. So yeah, 4 sets of skins and in need of another on a 6 year old is strange. But hat to break the news, but the original warranty period does start over when a warranty part is installed. So no new 3 year warranty on the last set.

First off WHY a 14 year old thread? (inelegant) Probably cleaning his vinyl with a Brillo pad and cleanser. Cheep vinyl won't stand up to anything!!!! I think I am going to sue!!!! Then post on a forum where most people love there Tige. Are you freeking kidding me. If Jeff143 is his dealer his response might be warranted. We don't know. but wouldn't stand up for the Jack A in the room.

Things have been so quiet lately. Must need a pretty big shovel to dig up such an old thread. Only thing bigger is the axe he needs to grind. Sorry, couldnt help myself.
Im curious with the rate vinyl is an issue, how is the boat stored?? Probably will never find out.
Only one things for sure, IF Jeff143 was his dealer or an employee of, he doused the bridge in gas and lit it with flamethrower, tossed his cigarette butt at the ashes and walked away...
