I will buy a boat - But which one?

    Hello guys,

I am planning to buy my 1st wakeboard boat - around 50K. (never ski) :-)

I have asked similar question to the Moomba and Wakeworld.com forum but I would like to ask here since I am considering Tige boats also. Especially the 22Ve.

What is the base price of 22Ve?

I have the following 2 questions:

    1) Salt water use. The problem is that I will use the boat in a salt water lake. I am not planning to drive to the open water / sea, but I would like to ask your opinion about salt water use.

I think Tige and Mastercraft offer a Salt water package? Other than the "closed - colling system" what the Salt package includes?

    2) What boat do you recommend within $50K? Does not have to be new but 1-2 years old the most... Other boats that I am looking are Moomba XLV and Centurion Avalance C4?

Unfortunately I can not test drive any of these boats here so my order is mainly based upon your input and reviews.

    Thank you,
    Andronikos

    P.S.

Be aware if you buy used there can be some issues with the warranty transferring to the new owner. Make sure you know what you're getting to factor that into your decision.

I don't have a 22Ve but I have been on this board a while now and I've never heard any complaints about them. They seem to make very happy owners
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Not sure about your market area, but you may be hard pressed to find a new (08) 22Ve for low 50's. 07 or used will be real close to where you want to be. Like Buffman said, look @ the Z1. Nicely optioned will be in your neighborhood.

Im going into my 3rd season with our 22Ve and still love.

Only bad part about that deal is the dealer that's selling it...avoid TriValley Marine.

I agree. The blatantly disregard everything that Tige has told them not to do.

                    thank you guys...

I was not thinking about the Z1 because I am not sure if the wake is big / solid enough. Other than that I do not need a bigger boat... Z1 is really nice boat.

What about the Salt water kit? Tige offers something special for salt water use?

Well, saltwater wise, they offer a stainless package, and I've never seen one without it. The MarinePower engine really is saltwater ready just the way they build them. The closed cooling isn't really a requirement for saltwater use as long as the boat is stored out of the water. I have a perko flush-pro connected to mine to ease flushing, but other than that it is factory. I had to make a little water gutter type thing across the back of the sunpad seam in the engine compartment to catch the saltwater dripping on the engine, which I actually got the idea for from the Teammastercraft site. As far as the MC saltwater series, nothing is different from my tige except the closed cooling and the full fiberglass liner, and I saved about $20k. If you want more details about maintenance or have any other questions about using a tige in saltwater just let me know, I use mine in saltwater and go out almost every weekend and usually a few weeknights per month.

Here a couple of Z1 pics from a few weeks back. I think this boat will respond well to added ballast.

I found one for you that has a closed cooling system. Not sure you will like the colors though.

You know, I'm really not sure how anyone would end up with a boat that looks like this. This dealer is near DC, maybe one of the foreign embassy consolate offices had this boat specially built.

Kind of in your price range too! Don't mean to make light of your search or questions, but I'm sure all the guys will kick out of this one. I believe it may have been around the forum before.
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

Yeah, I think the Z1's wake will be plenty big enough.
