Ya thanks, you were right about the amp size, i will check it out when i go home for lunch, this is the first day my boat has not been at my office for over six months, now i need it here, funny how that works

If the amp settings are correct, I would ohm out the tower speakers wires next, you may have one pinched under the tower leg.
Pull the leads from the amp, put DVOM leads across the + and - and check the resistance. Should be 4 ohms, maybe a shade over due to the length of wire.
