    Swim deck issues

New to the site - hello everyone!

We have a 2006 21i that we run on Lake Roosevelt in WA most of the time. There are a few other lakes in the area as well that we are going to hit this summer.

Anyways - last summer we had a bracket break around the hole that the pin goes in to secure the platform (the bracket part on the boat itself not the brace on the deck). Fortunately Tony of Tige in Abilene was able to ship us out a bracket to replace the one that broke. COMPLETE hassle replacing it - had to wiggle some little hands in between the gas tank and the back of the boat to hold the nut in place while screwing in from outside. Nearly wasted a whole lake day messing with it.

After getting her out of storage the other day I noticed that the other side is beginning to crack in the same place!

The bracket that was sent to me last summer was actually used and I'm concerned that this has been a problem for others and they discontinued this specific style...? I've spoken to several dealers - in Austin and Couer D'lene as well as having attempted to contact Tige themselves. All of them state that this isn't a warranty issue - best case is that Tige might send the replacement part for free but will not cover the labor!

I've looked through most of the forums and haven't seen any threads covering this topic. If it has...could someone please post a link to any threads that have? I would really appreciate it.

Well, this would be correct, the warranty in 06 is 3yrs - 1st yr parts and labor, 2nd/3rd yr is parts only.

How much weight is on your swim platform at any given time?

Have you priced out those brackets, they are like $15 each for the transom bracket I think.

I have not heard of this being an issue before. Its not uncommon for us to have 3-4 heavy-duty dudes on ours at one time.

Good luck with it, post some pics.

Have you taken a good look and see if its a design issue or material issue?
