I heard the whole string of lakes (Glendo, Guernsey, and Lake Mac) all have a lot of water coming in, and are actually releasing it.

We are now looking at doing Glendo next Thur/Fri, then being at Mcconaughy on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I think it will be a zoo up there, but the wife has some friends who will be up there then, and she wants to go.

Glendo is still in the high 50's, I wonder how warm Mcconaughy is.

Hey Denver'ites, there is a thread going on where Ragboy has been very generious and offered a wake surfboard and fat sac to all of us to use for a week, take pictures and move it on to the next guy.

As it stands Stoddark and I have signed up, but Ragboy suggested we try and group as many as possible in each city before moving it along. This should keep the shipping materials in good shape, and also save money on shipping charges.

So, I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else in the Denver area wants to give it a try.

BTW - the there can be found here:

Guys - if you want to wakesurf and the board/bag deal is taking too long to get to you, let's arrange a day and you can come out on my boat (or I can bring my stuff on yours) and I/we can teach you. I did do a Ch 2 and Ch 9 news story with Waterski Specialty on it ya know! We aren't pro's by any means but we do have the basics down.

Same offer for anyone near the Austin TX area! If we get enough interest and boats, I can possibly talk some of our local surf shapers into joining us.

Hmm... I might have to take you up on that

Are you the one in the video on the 9news website?

Let me check with my wife, and I'll shoot you a PM.

I don't remember, which lake do you normally go to?

We should still be there next Thur/Fri, swing by the Red Hills area, black/gray/White 20V.
The Reason Glendo is so cold is because it's almost at 100% capacity.

I am one of the people in the 9 News video, Corey from WWS is the other. We normally go to Boyd or Horsetooth. Which lake are you normally at?

We go to Sloans. It's a little dirty and shallow, but it's usually not very busy, and it's safe for the family.

Just heard from one of the guys we are camping with, looks like we won't be at Red Hills... It's under water.

I don't know how well you can surf there since it's only 6' deep. I think the depth messes up the wave. We could certainly try if you wanted! I could bring down a couple of sacs, a pump, a rope and my board and we could try it out!

You need at least 15 feet depth to surf, and 20 ft plus is best. We always surf in deep water, our lake is deep. But we went to the sacramento river delta once, and we were in about 40 ft of water, and then dropped to 20, 15, 10, 6, and then varied. You could just watch the wave disappear as the water got shallower. You need TONS of weight to make a decent wake when it gets that shallow.

I might be able to at least get them started. I have about 1,300 lbs worth of sacs now but only 1 pump...but I can surf on my boat without any ballast.

That would be great!! As per the other posts, I am a little concerned about the depth of the lake, but it's worth a try. If I can't do it there, it doesn't make sense for me to buy a board. It's not that easy to find another calm lake in this area.
