    Chocolate Leprechauns can surf

Today was my daughter Whitney's 16th birthday, had a great day on the lake, and Whitney is still enjoying that Green Loogey. I would say last year, due to INT, we wakeboarded 60% of the time, Surfed 20% of the time, and swimmed 20% of the time we were out on the water. This year, I would say we will probably wakeboard 30-40% of the time to make up for more time surfing. Everyone loves the loogey, and is just loving getting out there to surf, and you don't always need butter.

So here is Whitney, on her birthday, on the loogey.

Ashley got out on her board, first time this season, last time she was preparing for the prom, and didn't board.

She is wearing the getup I got her for INT nationals in L.A. Last year.

She was rusty, but did alright. I am sure she will be back on her game next week.

Maddie tried the loogey, which was great, because last year, she could only ride the monster hyperlite landlocker for some reason, and I sold that board. She can get up pretty normally now.

RJ will be getting air in a couple of weeks, he really needs to work building his speed up for the turn in.

When we were in the cleaning area after the lake, some guys on an old sangar came up and were macking on my Tige, they loved it. One guy had a 2008 Hyperlite B-Side and was an instructor at NorCal Board Sports, our local shop. He asked me if I would ever let him ride behind my boat, and he would give my kids lessons. I asked how much to take him on the boat for a few hours in the afternoon and he could coach the kids. He said $30 bucks if I let him ride. $30 bucks for the whole afternoon! I told him $75 and he has a deal. So we are going out next thursday. Dumb kid, doesn't know how to make a buck yet, I can't take advantage of him, and I don't mind giving him a ride.

OK, thats not all. This year I have a goal, to get my 2 year old wakeboarding. Last year I got her completely swimming like a champ and diving in on her own. She gets her Divine 109 next wednesday on her bday. Today on the boat she kept asking to wakeboard. This is the same little girl born addicted to meth, and has to where leg splints until she is probably 18.

So I asked if RJ would try taking her on the surfboard. The water was COLD, about 67. She went right in, and tried to stand on the board before the boat was even moving. So I can say without a doubt, with a little help, Chocolate Leprachauns can surf.

OK, this picture could be on a tshirt or something.

Give a month or 2, she will be up on that divine 109.

Thank you. I left out Thomas, he was kinda whiny today, he had a 102 fever day before yesterday, so I cut him some slack.

Oh, and when she was done, I sat her down with a towel and gave her free rein with a full box of Nilla wafers. She was in heaven.

The coolest thing about it was that I was planning on getting out there this summer, but was going to wait til after her birthday next week. But she WANTED to go out there. When she got in the water, she didn't even know RJ was going with her. She started standing on the board while it was floating, and took the rope. She was planning on doing it all by herself. And the water was FREEZING. This was later in the afternoon, the wind had picked up. The water was so cold, that when I went in, I could barely get used to it, my legs started to get a bit numb after about 20 mins. It was right at the edge of needing a suit.

She just wanted to do it, and decided to. Can't wait to start working with the wakeboard next week, nice and slow though. Will let her do more tandem surfing to keep her thrilled, and do the board slow. But she will be up this summer.

His reaction was all of ours, we were stunned. She didn't even wimper. She just decided she wanted to do it, and did it. I think she thought she was giving RJ a ride.
