No rotting going on in either boat.
Ya now Dog this always kills me when this subject comes up There's nothing wrong with wood if it's done correctly, period. Sanger has been using wood on all their boats since they started making them and continues to this day. I've never heard of a Sanger owner having rot issues and my brother-in-law has an '89 and some great friends have a '05 V215.

And you are right about the stiffness! The V215 is the most solid boat i've ever ridden in bar none. In order to get a composite boat that stiff, they have to beef up everything else and even then there's still some degree of flex. I think most have gone to composite for the ease of it and cost factors.

There are 100s of sales people for each brand. The manufacturers can't really be held responsible for a couple of douchebag salesmen. To say that a person bashes, or a dealership maybe bashes, is accurate--not the brand. MC, Malibu, Moomba, etc.. should not get a bad rap for the spoken words of some stupid sales people. I have no doubt Tige dealerships the country around have some individuals who bad mouth the competition.

      I disagree:

The old Malibu dealer here in Hendersonville, posted Malibu's corporate "bash" (competetive) matrix on his website. It ripped every boat company. This was coming straight from Malibu, but I guarantee that was meant for Dealer's Eyes only, and not general public.

I downloaded it on my old system, but the HDD crashed. Ohhhh, I wish I still had it.

They HAVE to point out differences and why thier product is superior--there's nothing wrong with that. They have to justify why thiers is better and educate thier sales force so they can present a good argument as to why a consumer should buy thier boat. That isn't bashing--that's sales! If they present true, relevant information that justifies thier assertions it becomes a sales pitch, not a "bash" on another brand. A "bash" is something different entirely.

I don't believe the CEO of Malibu/CC/MC is telling thier reps to instruct sales people to "bash" other brands. Do I think it's possible a rep or two might do that on thier own? Sure--people can be off-track. But is that Malibu/CC/MC pushing them to say derogatory things about other brands? No, I don't believe so. Again, presenting information as to why thier respective brand is better does not constitute "bashing!" Being blatantly derogatory or expressing negative opinions is bashing. The suits all know very well that deriding the competition is not an effective sales strategy...that's marketing 101.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Go read the Tige bashing on WW, it's the same crap the dealers and reps are spreading, where do you think the customers get it. 90% of it is wrong, the other 10% is about what Tige did 5 yrs ago, not current model stuff........like the "wood" comment.

Most cant back up their $h!t with factual info or real world experiences. If you've heard what I've heard while doing re-con at boat shows, you would agree it's brand bashing.

If 2-3 factory reps are doing it, that's about 50% of thier sales reps

I had a similar experience when looking at the Centurions, the sales rep never did tell me why his boats were better than the competition but for sure had all kinds of negative stuff about all of them. That dealership has since closed and someone else has picked up the Centurion line...hmmm, wonder why?

                      Jason,

It's the same stuff as on the forums, plus some you haven't seen. I've been in sales for a long time, the only difference between real sales and bashing is the way the differences are presented to the customer. If I still had the pdf, I'd post it and let you decide.

If you tell a customer that you have a new advanced stringer system that rivals older technology, like wooden stringers, then I don't consider that bashing. But if you say "Don't get a Tige, because the wooden stringers suck and will rot." Then you've got bashing.

Agreed. If they can't back up the statements with some form of factual information, that IMO falls into "bashing."

If I understand your view of the drain correctly, I believe you may be mistaken as to why it's there.

Let's think about this a minute, water cascades over the bow and into the boat; any water in the boat will work it's way down to the bildge OK, so a drain in the floor of the cockpit would drain where? Into the bildge. Thus making the same bildge pump, pump out the water.

The drain in the floor is to drain any water accumulated by entering and exiting the water getting in and out of the boat to drain away from the cockpit area floor, it also is intended to permit easier cleaning of the inside of the boat. The MC's have snap out carpet (which is something I wish tige' had), anyway; remove the carpet and wash and hose down the floor and all of the water goes down into the bildge and out the back of the boat if the plug is removed. This is a very nice feature. This is also handy if you get caught in the rain.

The floor drain is a very thoughtful and useful design feature, something that tige' should take a look at. I would love to have snap out carpet and a floor drain. I could easily scrub & clean all of the vynil, wash it down with a hose and not wait 7 days for the carpet to dry by leaving the boat uncovered in the sun.

Lets all be like those good ol tige' sales staff that we spoke of, lets not bash the other products. They are all great boats, and they each have their +'s and -'s as previously mentioned.

Concur 100%. All of the top boats are very close in design, equipment and as finished product. You might pay more for one brand or another but the end product is very similar. I have seen threads that complain about bashing and I have seen threads here that bash other brands or concepts. The Chapparal thread comes to mind. I check out and am a member of the other brand's boards so that I can take advangage of group buys, learn about their boats and those boards have great DIY projects. Rarely do I see bashing. If someone is bashing it is really done to justify their purchase. If you like your boat and it works, who cares what others say. Our boats generally perform at level that 95% of us wont even be able to realize its true potential. I agree that it is sad that one brand can only sell by pointing out the alleged shortcomings of a competitor instead of championing its own strengths but in the end it is all kinda of silly and just chest puffing. The cream always rises to the top.

I wish Tige had a better warranty program but the boats are solid. Other than that I will take a Tige and a lower boat payment.
