We do have Rattlesnakes in Eastern Oregon, but I understand that they cannot attack while swimming? I've been told this and would prefer if no one correct me if this is in fact an incorrect statement.
Of course, they're terrified of beavers
Sorry, I couldn't resist....

I'd rather have snakes than gators any day. A buddy of mine moved to Lake Mary, FL and his family refused to get in the water. He hardly ever used his Tige. So, then he buys a beach house in Datona Beach and guess what, sharks.
Ha, you hit the nail on the head, I was wondering what you-all had against snakes and big fish, I dealt with those as a kid. Now I get to play with the big boys, sharks and gators. I can't wait to go down near everglades city this summer and deal with american crocs! Even nastier Atleast I'll be getting paid to get in the water with those big boys.

Excellent family fun pics though!
No, you see this whole conversation about "would you rather" is ridiculous. Would I rather get bitten by a Croc or a Rattlesnake, is like asking if I would rather get my foot smashed by a 1ton boulder or a 2 ton boulder....how about NEITHER!!!!!!
stupid reptiles........
and stupid spiders........
and stupid killer bees........
I'd love to ask God why these things exist, why not make cute and cuddly snakes and spiders, that carry no poision and love humans........

How do you feel about rabid beavers?

We have Nutria that are not native and basically are large rats that devour vegetation here in the Northwest. They are more of a problem than the cute little Beavers.

Looks like a lot of fun! You need some red hawaiian punch to wash those cheetos down. ( Yes I have had cheetos and punch on my boat - so don't everybody start on the food Nazi - I still don't like cleaning it up )
Ragboy, seeing a deer cross the water is always interesting. I've only seen it twice where they were out in the deep water swimming. Took me a minute to figure out what it was. Hitting one of those on a dark night would be a rude awakening.

I've seen them swimming in Shasta everytime I'm there. You are right though, hitting one would be a quick wakeup!
