If you have any boating questions about Parker Arizona, you can get good answers at: boatcop.com.
Boatcop com is run by the head Sheriff of the Water Enforcement Division of the La Paz County Sheriffs office.
Alan Nelson is his name,, or as known by Parker boaters: Boatcop.
I was chattin' with Boatcops dad about the Reagan Library. I used to live about 600 yds away on the next hilltop,,,
A divorce changed all that.
I mentioned it's more than a library. They're building a hanger for Air Force One, and for Marine 1 (helicopter), and their is more to see at a Presidental Library than one imagines.
Traveling historic displays make an appearance,, and ya might stumble onto some historic show that is of interest to you.
It's a neat library, if ya liked the Prez or not.
OK,, Back to the subject:
At Boatcops Parents Biz,,, I got a throwback to the pre-computer days.
It was a kinda like a Andy Griffith show sorta experience.
I had to mail some parts,, and I used BoatCops folks UPS service at Parker Office Supplies..
I was helped by an old Jasper named AL.
A prince of a guy,, an asset to the business.
He took me "Up the Stairs" (a short incline) to the UPS door/counter to get the package ready to send.
Al could easily portray Jimmy Stewarts dad in any old classic B&W movie.
OK,, preping my box for UPS pick up:
No typing the address into a computer and a barcode recipt/label comes out,,, then scan and send,, nope,
No sir, no way,, no electronics here. It was cool:
It was Forms to be filled out,, ledgers to be scribed in multi form,, thick catalogs and rate scale lists to thumbed through and consulted, stampings,, inscriptions,,,
Al apologized that the UPS rates had gone up a wholloping 70 cents, and they were gonna sting me another dollar because the book said Parker is "Rural".
Damn,,, budget buster.
I was waiting for Aunt Bea to drop in at any minute and pick up some stationary and leave some home canned preserves.
I bought a ink pen from Al on my way out.
I wrote the most beautiful, romantic personal love letters to a girl back home that the the Flying Tiger could reach down into his heart and create.
I was brilliant,, the letters were awsum,, even sent flowers,,
When I returned home,, the reciever of the letters left me,,,, Damn
