I heard we can use the same pickup as our current speedo's, if that's the case I'd be more willing to go with the older one for 2 reasons. It would cost less money, which would make it easier to justify to my wife, and I wouldn't have to drill a new hole.

Our local dealer wants $500 to install PP, from what I've seen it can be a DIY project in 2 hours. The thing that scares me is drilling the hole. Everything else should be cake. I can't justify that kind of money, and then pay someone $500 to install.

Went out Wed evening with a buddy who has a Nautique with Perfect Pass, which they call "the marriage saver". I am interested in the older version, but really need to see what we can get the price down to... What do you guys think the likelihood of getting it below $1,000 is?

Well the quoted price from OnlyInboards right now is $1040 shipped out the door. Thats pretty close to $1000

ISSUES ADDRESSED:
1. The new system will work with older and newer throttle systems - BOTH D-B-W and Electronic. It is identical to the older PP system, only instead of using a paddle wheel to control the speed, it uses the GPS antennas. - This is coming from PP directly.

2. Group purchase! I count 8- so far on the list - I called and talked to Mark a few minutes ago and he is willing to talk to the owners and see if they are willing to work a deal with us. I aksed him to let me know how many we need in order to get a deal 10-15 whatever. I am willing to chase this down and get it worked out either with PP or another dealer. So....if PP won't work a group discount then I will contact 1 or 2 other dealers, like Onlyinboards or skier to skier. I will keep you posted on what I find out!
