    Following in Surfdads footsteps...

Ashley, my oldest (17), was invited to the Paradise High School junior/senior prom. I think this would be easier with my son.

First, I have to say, I know I am her dad, but she is beautiful.

I have to share a couple more. I took a couple of pictures with him, and while they were being taken, I put my hand on his neck, and was whispering in his ear "NO TOUCHY".

He was nervously laughing, but I could tell he was filling his shorts.

Before I let him go with my daughter. I made him sign a baseball bat. To sign her out.

I let him know if she comes back in tact, he can sign her in and I will put away the bat. If not...

He is a good kid, and I wasn't worried. Although I did buy ashley a special knife that attached to her garter. I have taught her how to take care of herself.

Lastly, the boy is a family friend, our families are close. He drove his dad's truck, and he just got 22s on it, and detailed it, its sharp.

If I am not mistake, she just got her motorcycle licence and prom. WOW.

Baseball bat---Way to funny. I have two girls I will remember that one. I have ten years but still way to funny.

Great pics, and she did look great.

    Congrats.

The baseball bat idea is probably the funniest thing I have heard.. I had a nice laugh at that one.

Wish I could use the idea but we only have boys...

I hope she had a wonderful time. This only happens once in her lifetime and looks like he went all out for that special occasion.

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Um, I don't think you really need a bat, ragboy. You're way bigger than her date.

Great pics...boy they grow up fast. I have one studying for his license. Seems like not too long ago I was teaching them how to wakeboard...

y, the bat is a good one. I can't take credit for it as an original idea. Years ago when my girls were young, we had some friends with teenage girls. Their girls were amazing kids. We took a lot of cues from them, and this was one.

He is a good kid, but we all know as guys, what we are capable of. So in case he did come out of his shell that night, and some thoughts started going through his head, I wanted a picture of me with a bat being one of them. My daughter and his parents said I spooked him pretty darn good, so job well done.

Did you look at the picture with Rag's hand on the young man's shoulder? It has to be intimidating when the dad of the girl you're dating has fingers that are bigger than your ARMS!

Rag she really is stunning, like a fairytale princess.

OMG - this thread is hilarious! I love the baseball bat idea Rag! My buddies and I have joked about redoing the scene from Bad Boys where Will Smith is acting like he's drunk and has the gun in his pants when the boy comes over to pick up Martin's daughter for our daughter's first dates (3 of us have girls).

@surfdad - Thanks, and yes, my hand was about as big as his head.

@timmy - I love that scene. I have thought about also having my dog out eating a steak or something. He is a ginormous 200 lb mastiff. I have 4 girls and 2 boys. 3 more girls to go. Girls are tough man.

Your hands make the whole bat thing seem kinda wimpy
