Thats not a lot of room & definitely not enough room for a cooler.

The batteries are located on top of the hard tanks in the rear of the boat. I guess they are not easily accessible, but there is an extension in case the batteries need to be jumped.

The batteries are located in a box in the storage that is built to make room for the tanks. The batteries are actually easier to get to on boats with ballast then with out.

The batteries are not on top of the hard tanks in boats with ballast, unless you know of some new system.

This dealer builds a separate box and locates the batteries on top of the ballast.

i have a 22ve with hard tanks on one side i have a 12" sub and 7 life jackets on the other side i have a tige bag ice chest that fits just fine and you can put 60 beers in there as for batteries i have a third behind my tank

Yeah, I cant speak for what your dealer does in his own shop, but just trying to describe how the boat will come from the factory with or with out ballast. Not sure how they mount batteries on top of a hard tank that fits under the transom with > 1" clearance.

Here is a pic of the RZ2 rear storage with ballast. You can see the battery box taking up storage because the factory hard tanks run across the transom where the battery would sit.

One dealer I am talking to says that he will custom fit batteries on the top of those tanks. Not sure how he will do it, but he says he does it all the time and it saves room on the floor for coolers, vests, etc...

My '07 RZ2 was purchased from Tige Watersports. They added an additional battery (total 2) and repositioned them to the top of the hard tanks leaving the entire storage space usable, except for the perko battery switch mounted in the corner upper right rear wall.

If you used "gel cell" type batteries, you could mount them on their sides which would probably allow you to put them on top of the hard tanks from what I remember about the built-in ballast tank.

Maybe if you had hard tanks that hold 150 pounds of water each.
