Possum Kingdom

Hi,

We were chatting the other day about taking the boat off of Lewisville and going to Possum Kingdom for a long weekend.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cabin that would sleep ~8 and has good access to a ramp?

I've never been to this lake - is it a safe lake or are there danger areas we need to be aware of? Also, are there good wakeboarding spots on this lake?

Go during the week to board and stay for the weekend to party @ Hell's Gate. Too much traffic on the weekend to board. We stayed at Hideaway Cabins last year and had plenty of room for 6 adults and 5 kids and the boat ramp is right across the street. Lake is plenty deep and there are a lot of good places to ride. Fun lake to cruise after boarding, just to look around. Beautiful place.

I live and grew up on Possom Kingdom. Great lake and there are some good spots to board even on weekends, depending on which side of the lake you are staying on it might be a good ride to get to them. And definatly go party at Hell's Gate.

Best spot to stay if you've got about 8 is at the "hideaway cabins" out on the peninsula. Several different arrangements to chose from and they are pretty nice. If you are boarding, try to make it up before Memorial Day or go during the week. Best spots to board are by the Cliffs close to the dam, or any spot blocking the south wind on the north side of the lake. That's why staying at the hideaway cabins is nice. The public boat ramp to the north side with good boarding is right across the street. If you want to look at more of the scenery or go to Hell's Gate, just put in at La Villa Marina or South D&D boat ramps which are a very short drive away.

rogersbm82, which school did you go to? We have some good friends that grew up in Graham. Spent lots of time on PK during college. Hells Gate is a blast.

I went to Graham. Spent most of my life on PK. I love that place. The Toadies are playing there on labor day weekend at Possum Hollow, which is good becuase that is the weekend I am scheduled to come home for my vacation from the sand box. Who do you know from graham?
