    Would you guys buy this prop?

    With my prop incident this past weekend, I have had to hurry up and buy my new prop. I have it on order, and it will be here on Friday. But with that said, I need a backup. I found this one, and it will only cost $40 more then it will cost to rebuild my current prop. I don't know if my current prop can be fixed or not, but I am thinking about purchasing this one. The color of the prop kinda concerns me. Is it ok? Is it tarnished? Should I stay away?

    I would call Acme and get the word from the pros. They will know best.
    Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

      What are the number on that prop? As for the colors of the prop, I don't see any issue with that.

        The prop is a 525 (13x11.5), 1/2 a pitch lower then my 515(13x12). It will help at high alt, but not as much as the 911 (13x10.5) that ACME things I should get. I am planning on using the 525 as a spare, if I can't fix my 515. I have also thought about buying it instead of attempting to fix my 515. They want $120-130 to fix it (if it's fixable), and I can buy the 525 for $160.

        I can also have the local prop shop put it on his machine and make sure it is in good shape.

        da.bell - why is it off color?

          I am assuming it's a little tarnished. The prop is metal and not completely aluminum either.

            The 525 is a great prop. That's what I run on my boat. It really handles a heavily weighted boat well.

              They can be polished up easily. It's no big deal.

                    If you can buy a brand new one for an extra $40 I'd go that route. Why bother fixing one for such a small amount of savings?
                    Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

                      Jason - I can buy this one used, for $40 more then my damaged one. I am going to have this one checked out, if it checks out, it will be my spare. I am still going to order a new 911. (13 x 10.5)

                        The 525 is an awesome prop. Great hole-shot and holds speeds a lot better than the 515, but only sacrifices a 1 or 2 MPH on the top end.
