    Click on Comparison and then click on safety.
    Being a major OU fan and a staunch conservative.... I am perpetually vexed w/ the conundrum of who to hate more. Obama or the Univ. of Saxet.

        Yeah, so after you get around the rudder then you can put your foot/leg/arm into the prop...

          It's really ironic how they have used some of the same illustrations in their comparrisons that most inboard co.'s use in their advertisements. Only this time Chap is saying that they have the advantage.

          I don't know about you guys but my 22 is no where near that shallow, I am drafing over 30". Those comparrisons are really comical. Mike I like the lines you put on the safey illustrations, I guess they are hoping that consumers will be blind and oblivious to seeing that the swimmers leg is closer to their prop!

          Advertisments are just like Hollywood, they can make them appear and say anything they want. tige' is even guilty of it too.

          Anyway, enough said. I do like the boat, and if I were in the market for an IO, that one is definately one I would consider, I like Chaparral.
          I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

            244:
            LOA = 24'4"
            Draft - down = 33"
            no. of passengers = 12
            Dry weight = 4700lbs
            Max hp = 320

            224:
            LOA = 22'4"
            Draft = 35"
            no. of passengers = 10
            Dry weight = 4300lbs
            Max hp = 300

            This is the problem with rub-abouts, there are billed out at LOA, so you need to compare the interior room to a shorter tow boat. These 2 would be in the range of a 20 and 21 ft wakeboard boat. The rest of the length is lost in the swim platform and the non-existent sunpad.

            I like how the "Pro" rider said it had more room and sat more peeps

              He also mentioned you can get more women into the boat also.

              Apparently Alvie has a wife thats as big as he is.

                  You can't blame them for trying I suppose. Pretty darn ignorant to run that safety pic though...only takes about 3 brain cells to see something is wrong w/ the I/O.
                  Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

                    This is just wrong. I don't care how nice the boat seems to be or what a good manufacturer Chapparral is. Their advertising is just plain lies.

                    I have owned an I/O and there is no fu*king way they can compare at all to an inboard.

                    Anyone that tells you otherwise is full of sh*t. Period.

                    Our wakesurfing days are numbered the first time someone losses an arm or leg due to them using it for wakesurfing cause its advertising says that it is safer then an inboard.

                    This is a fu*king joke.

                    This just makes me so mad cause there are enough stupid people out there to believe it and buy their piece of sh*t boats.

                          LMAO, that picture is hilarious! I guess they assume people can't measure the distance between two lines.

                            Actually, that picture doesn't bother me that much. If you read the description, it says "added measure of safety." It doesn't say "as safe as an inboard." That big platform actually is safer than the average IO. I actually think it's smart for them to market the bigger swim platform. People like those for their kids to play on. That being said, they distort the wake if weighted. These things are marketed to a different group than are our performance boats. No experienced water sports enthusiasts will go out, see the ads, and buy one. But, a guy with a couple of kids who is getting into boating might say, "little cheaper, I like the layout, and the kids can still learn to wakeboard." I know I learned how to board on IO's, and while I eventually wanted an inboard, they served their purpose. Towers and "X" graphics are the current fad. Your boat just isn't cool without them, so everyone wants them.

                              Yeah, I caught that late last night as I went back to look at it illini. They saying their platform is safer than a typical I/O and comparing the platform sizes.

                                But they really should have shown their platform and then show another I/O, not an inboard. Comparing apples to oranges for sure.

                                One of the best wakes I have seen was a big 25 foot Regal I/O. So they can put out good wakes for sure.
                                Be excellent to one another.
