Need Help!! Anyone in the SE Denver Metro area have a prop puller?

I destroyed my prop today, hitting a 32 oz Beer bottle. I havn't ordered my spare, or prop puller yet, and would like to get my prop off ASAP and up to Jim's prop shop, or the Prop Dr.

Does anyone have a prop puller I can borrow?

I will post pic's in a little bit. The prop is actually torn.

    thanks!!

    Waterski-Rebel,

I am still at college but I am pretty sure my parents have a puller at our house in Littleton, we live right next to Heritage High School... Let me know if you still need it and I will give them a call...

ctmccahill04 - That would be great, a little further the I'd like to drive, but it would be great if I can borrow it. I can swing by tonight too.

      thanks,

If the prop is actually torn, you might have an unfixable prop. I have heard of guys doing some great repair work, but I think it is going to be extremely difficult to get that prop into balance if they have to weld it back together.

Inboards are extremely sensitive to props being out of balance. It might look good, but the one blade is not going to weigh the same as the others and will cause a vibration. If they think they can fix it, then use it for a spare and it will get you by for a weekend after your next prop strike.
        Be excellent to one another.

talltigeguy - my first thought was that it was history, but someone at the lake said the local prop shop could probably fix it for $100. I am going to give it a shot. I am also going to keep it as a spare, it is a low alt prop, and I am in Denver and was planning on buying a new prop anyways.

          Below are some pics.

Others have reported, sometimes, the repair shop will loan out a puller when they do the repair on your prop. Worth a shot to ask?

              That prop is hashed.
Do what Tall said and use it as a spare. Open the wallet for $400 buckeroos and you can get a replacement.

Take it to a prop shop that will get it back into the specifications that ACME has. The prop shop will put a scanner and computer onto it and get that fixed. I had the same issue with a prop last year. Not as bad as your peal but the prop shop but it back to specs and works perfectly. Sorry guys, I don't agree with anyone regarding that. It is totally fixable.

Denver guys - Which is better Jim's prop shop, or the Prop Dr's?

I am not sure that will be usable as a spare. Put it on the wall of the garage. Tell them that is what happened when the prop hit you in the leg (find some small scar to point at) and tell them that a non-bionic man would have lost an entire limb.

After looking at that closer you might be right Tall. It is torn more that I thought when I looked at it closer.

Did you try to loosen the nut. Sometimes they come right off, and a little hammer tap on occasion works too.

BandSecurity and I have used this guy in Rancho Cordova, CA that repairs props to ACME standards. If you have to, you can use him.. It might cost you $210 but well worth it and unfortunately, I don't think he is cheap. But he gets it done and you are on your way.
