I know i don't post alot but i wanted to share the good new. my wife Holly and i been trying for 5 years to have a baby and yesterday; May 2nd, 2008 she gave birth to a baby boy Chase Aspen Trudelle, 7 pounds 14 ounces & 21.5 inches.
if anyone has used infant life vests; which ones do you recommend, how old was the infant befor you took them on the boat, and any additional information that may help...... we are looking forward to the Tige' boating season with our new baby.

Aways glad to add another to the Tige family. I would be more interested in who makes boards for infants.

Congrats! We just bought (for our neighbors) an infant vest for their 8 month old... It's USGA approved up to 30 lbs. and was $20 from Costco...

Congrats gone are the nights of sleep. We have two kids under the age of 4 and both were on the boat by 3 months. according to my wife all infant life vest suck !! and we have tried a few. if you zip them all the way up they cant sit or they slide up and choke them. They have a hard time wearing them unless they are walking or can stand. Good luck let me know if you find a good one.

Here is a picture of my new Daughter (Jan 26, 08) in her life jacket. We have been taking her swimming since she had her two month shots, to get her ready for boating season. The life jacket is called Baby Bijoux (9 to 25lbs), and it works great. It has a mesh back do there's no chafing, and keeps her head upright at all times, she loves it. She is three months old now and we plan on taking her out on the boat as soon as the ice is off the lakes (two more weeks I'm guessing). I believe the life jacket is coast guard approved in the USA, but Canada won't approve anything rated for under 25lbs.

Good luck and enjoy your new child. Great fun will be had by all I'm sure.

I have a new infant life vest I can sell you for $14.00. It is brand new in the packaging. G-Money bought two of them for his boat and his new baby. We get new infants from the hospital all the time. My wife is an emergency infant care foster Mom. So we have them on our boat with these all the time. They are not the top of the line deal but for the price and for the four to five months you will use them they are worth the price.

Congrats on the new addition. Babies are great on boats. I had my son at Lake Powell when he was six weeks old. I have had the same type pfd's as mentioned above. They usually sleep the minute the boat is running.

My dad always said "Stupid Hurts". He's yet to be proven wrong, but for some reason I keep trying.
