    Can you believe this?

(KSL News) It's the first day of May, and it's snowing.

The storm started last night and is still hanging around, exceeding the expectations of all the experts.

But while some people are grumbling about this return to winter, others couldn't be happier.

With today's snow, Alta officials say they topped the 700-inch mark for the year.

And in Little Cottonwood canyon so much snow fell that roads had to be closed for avalanche control. That didn't sit well with skiers anxious to squeeze in one last day on the slopes, but officials said it was better to be safe than sorry. Liam Fitzgerald with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) said, "Considering the possibility that it may heat up fairly well on Friday and that could cause some problems, so we tried to get snow moving now so hopefully that will help us out when it gets warmer."

I got my boat out of storage today only to be greeted by the snow but at least it is not sticking. We had an inch overnight here and it has all melted. I think I have one more snow ski trip left in me. Going down to Lake Powell this weekend to get the houseboat ready for the season.

That was after I moved here. Mother nature decided to change plans mid stroke.

I take full responsibility for the snow and anything that Reverend Wright says.
