Ok so I got a quick question what kind of trailer bunks does everyone run? I have straight up carpet bunks on mine. But the gel coat on the ribs on the bottom of my boat are almost down to fiberglass. Anyway to stop the wear on the gelcoat? Looking at those nylon bunks thinking the might slide better.

I can't say that I have ever seen the area under the bunks on my boat because when the boat is not on the trailer...it is in the water.
I have always felt that it is much better to put the trailer in very deep and minimize friction when putting the boat on.Be excellent to one another.

Yes we do powerload but where it is wearing on the gel coat right on the tips of the forward most middle bunks I don't think that floating it on would make a difference I live in FL and the ramp we load/unload isnt deep enough to make anymuch difference it still slides on those bunks. I think that im just going to say screw it as gay as roller bunks are its better than redoing my gel coat every 2 years.

here's a trick I got from my brother in law. Armor-all the carpet on the bunks. I keep a bottle in my truck, and spray them every so often. makes the bunks really slick and the boat just slides right on.
One thing though, when pulling it out, make sure you have it secured to the trailerReality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol.

yeah, I think you maybe have some sand or something in the carpet, or the carpet is crap. Take a look the next time you put the boat in the water and see if there is sand in there. Feel if the carpet feels normal. THAT does not look normal. Is it possible that this is a result of salt water?????Reality is only an illusion that occurs due to a lack of alcohol.
