Tige Owner(Domsz06) Still Needs Our Help

As many of you are aware Domsz06 (Sean) is still in the hospital recovering from his accident. He is progressing forward according to the last update but his ordeal is not over by any means.

After thinking about how much we raised for him in our collection after the accident I thought about how much help Sean may need going forward and how we can continue to help him thru his ordeal.

I propose that we start another collection for Sean to help him anyway we can going forward. Let's show Sean and his family what the Tigeowner family can do to help.

We can handle the donations the same way we did originally. SPBFAN can still take donations over Paypal. Send what you can or feel like sending to PayPal. Log on to PayPal and send funds to marinecare@bak.rr.com on PayPal.

    Thanks

Let's wait and see how he progresses. I don't mind donating money, but it's more meaningful when we have a goal in mind. I think his family is doing ok financially.

I do agree he will need our support and he's going to need to have something to look forward to. Once we know what the recovery path will be for him, I would like to suggest a welcome back gathering out in CA.

I know it helped my son a lot when he had a goal to shoot for when he seriously injured himself. It was a long tough road to recovery for him, but those are the kind of things that help you with the mind over matter stuff.

I'm open to anything, just throwin' my in. Thoughts?

If you must know a little over $1K.

Goals could be one of many such as help with Hospital deductibles, Physical Therapy deductibles or equipment etc.......

He is going to need to deal with a lot of PT to recover in the future after more painfull surgery

            Was just a suggestion

...and a good one at that. Hey, it got the discussion going and at least you're thinkin' about it.

I think just as before, many of us here will jump in, in a heartbeat. If we know of situation of a specific need, that gives us something to work towards. As long as we keep that gesture open ready and waiting, I am sure that Sean and his family would chime in and ask, "OK guys here is what we need, can you help?" We might be surprised as to what they would need from us, it may not be $$$. Understandibly $$ always helps, but he may need support in other ways, lets just keep this and the other tread going and keep our fingers on the pulse of his condition and see what we can do to support in the upcoming days. Just my

Great idea and ongoing thoughts and concern
I don't want to go to work, take me wake surfing instead!

Yep, absolutely a good idea. Maybe he'll need some $$ to help replace the bike, or who knows. Lets just wait and see but keep this out there.

I doubt the Sean will replace the bike. With the injuries he has suffered the bike will be the last thing he wants to revisit IMO.

If I were to venture where someone who was in ICU for weeks then in other advanced care since then with numerous operations and more pending it will be the hospital bill that he will need help with. It will be well over $100K probably much higher. When I had my knee replaced because of a blown out meniscus that bill for surgery and 1/2 knee and 2 fun filled vacation days at the hospital was only $95K Insurance typically will cover 80% of the bill, sometimes higher, so between major hospital, physical therapy, and normal living expenses someone will be hard pressed for cash. Again just my but there is no doubt that he will need help.

Voice your opinions. Maybe someone else may see that there will be a need.

We don't have to help, but it would ring true to all the adoration of Tigeowners that was fed up well in the first post about the accident!

Well all I don't know what to say after the latest news in the Tige owner needs our prayers!!!!! thread.

I leave it in others hands to listen and determine what will really help out Sean because my ideas are exhausted and frankly I am dissapointed.

We basically collect $1K for a rope and to cover some debts and pat fellow owners on the back, but now when bigger causes like helping a little with hospital and insurance deductions goes nowhere I am a shade dissapointed with 10 responses (5 of them mine) in 306 views.

Are we numb to the issue of continuing help?

As they say, I am done preachin to the choir.

Seans amputation will require all kinds of support including an artificial limb.

If this opinion and statement gets me in ill standing and hot water with the forum so be it.

                        1 Lab Trainer,
I find it a bit presumptuous to assume that because no-one is responding to your thread that we don’t care. Truth is many on this site did step up, both you and I and most on this site don’t understand the full details of Domz life. Why do you always need to find the negative in people or their actions? I have yet to see, as you say, Tigeowners patting themselves on the back.

As for the details, does he have health insurance, short and long term disability, $100k in the bank, fact is most don’t know. If you feel compelled to give more money then please do so, but your soapbox should not be used to ridicule and bastardize the many good people who truly care about Dom and who (if needed) will step up and help.

Your insurance examples are relevant and heard, but I don’t have the same insurance as you and I’m sure Sean is the same. Perhaps it is best to wait and see what he needs, then if people can or feel the need to they can donate to the cause.

Your “preaching to the choir” statement is an insult and frankly is absurd given the time and effort that many have contributed to Domz recovery.

I don’t wish to insult you or have ill will, but please consider that many may not have the resources that you have to pay for someone else’s medical expenses. I had my home and two cars robbed last week plus a 10k+ tax bill……..would I love to donate more….YES, but right now I can’t, and I think that it’s best to let people like SPBFAN inform us as to the extent of his need.

                        Regards,

                        Jeremy….aka Sparky216

No ill will on my part. You stated how you felt. Is Good.

I was impelled to state my feelings and I was pretty sure someone might take offense at what I said and I am/was willing to accept that. It is not that I am impelled to find the negative in people but more a statement of frustration.

What has me frustrated is the lack of response not money. I am not wealthy by any means but I am willing to help someone in need.

To be honest I am looking for more feedback and ideas versus money at this point.

Your statements and opinions are appreciated. It is much better than a deafening silence.

Sorry about your house and cars. Must be a nightmare.

Thank you for your response. Have a good one.

OBTW- This should be my last post on this subject.
