Matt, how much more would it have cost to put in another fill assembly and hose? they went to it on the other boats because of this same problem and making it easier to fill boats from both sides and they have the design concept done.

It was more about convenience when pulling into the pumps, then fixing a problem.

*EDIT* Looking at a RZ4, the 2 fill hoses "Y" togehter above the trans, about 18" from the tank. This may help, but not a true cure because the trapped air still has to pass by the incoming fuel for the that stretch of hose between the tank and "Y".

I've had gas come shooting out of the second filler before, like it burped or something. The 2 fillers is the greatest thing ever for filling the boat, my last boat only had 1 and of course it was on the opposite side of the truck...

Tige and Chevy are on the same page with that one Timmy. I guess that's the ONLY cool thing about fueling the boat and the truck. With the closest station that has diesel I am able to bleed money into the truck and the boat at the same time.

No idea on cost. That is what I was told by Tige headquarters last year when this boat was still in the design phase.

My 24v burps gas out if I try to fill it completely. I bought a sponge for washing your truck and cut a hole for the nozzle and put it around the nozzle and put itagainst the boat when filling now. It catches most everything when it burps. I keep the sponge in the back of my truck during the summer.

Install the Racor LG50 and the issue will probably go away, it's specifally designed to vent the air and return fuel from the tank. It has thermal expansion of 2.4psi so no more weeping overflow. Some have reported it even helps greatly when filling the tank as well.

I just found a project write up from Wakeside where they installed the Racor LG50 on a Malibu. While the pictures don't show on the page, if you click them they do. Problem solved as you will see.

I'm not sure where those guys think you can get one of these for $40, but I'd love to see it. Cheapest I could find was $67, which still isn't bad as suggested retail is $92

I think the date of that write up was 2002 or something, cost of inflation!

What I do, is fill it to where I think it will take another 5 gallons. (I have a fuel flow gage, so I have a really good idea on how much will be going back in)
I then step on the tong a few times to get the air out of the tank and finish it off.
It works most of the time.
Tige, it's a way of life!

I just bought one of these for 67, so hopefully it will help. We'll see. My wife would freak if she knew I spent 70 bux on something "just to see if it works" but I figure the amount of $$ i spend in gas spilled should pay for it in one season.
