    Well,

The Owner of the company is doing a good job making up for his sales guys mistake, but Malibu basically threw them under the bus and told them there isnt anything they can do.

Well, F Malibu. And the regional rep of the upper midwest.

I told the sales guy I was buying another boat if they couldnt get it to me by today, and he said he would check on it.

The Regional rep told the sales guy he was giving him a bump to an earlier spray date because they were a new dealer and wanted the sale for them.

Supposedly as long as it was sprayed before the 16th Id get it.

Then the info was backed off and it was said that shipping would be the week of the 26th. I spoke to them and the sales guy assured me he was working on it. I was skeptical and said I would just get another boat and they said "it was in production and we had a contract, I dont know what else to tell you"

Monday the 19th came and they JUST started it...so I wont see it until the first weekend in June....possibly. SO that means BS when I asked about cancelling 2 days after the "order".

I cant believe Malibu would take the stand to leave the dealer on his own to make good, since it was a reg rep giving the info.

I would never have bought the boat had I known it wasnt going to get here this weekend. I had a SAN 210 sitting at another dealer waiting for me.

So malibu wont be getting any of my business in the future, and I will be shocked if I have problems with this boat, and they get taken care of by the factory.

I gave the dealer an out, so he wouldnt have to deal with me in the future, knowing how sensitive I will be to their handling of things, but he wouldnt take it.

So I guess I will have to wait even longer and get madder each weekend I could be enjoying boating with my wife and kids. I hope for malibu's sake there isnt any issues with this boat!
    Stuck with the malibu now....

        Should have bought a Tige

O well, So you wait for a bit... I think it is to be expected to have to wait a bit when you custom order a boat through a dealer.

From what you have told, I can't find fault in BU, is there more to the story?

I know people on this site used to complain about how long it took a custom order to be filled, but I know people on MC and the Bu forums and wakeworld also complain about how long it takes to get a custom ordered boat built. However, it does seem odd that bu would bump one order for another dealer, sounds like a bad start to their theory of "customer service". Good luck with the v-ride. Post some pics when you get it.

Just the fact that they told me they spoke with rep and he gave this boat a bump to one of his build slots in order to get them going.....I told them I was buying a diff boat if they couldnt get it this weekend...so someone is BS in someone here.

Owner is cool thrying to make it up to me, but sales guy was cocky to me about having a contract 2 days after I "ordered" it, saying I had a contract and the boat was being built...when in fact it wasnt being built until this last monday. So he knew I wanted out if they couldnt deliver and gave me a line......so i wouldnt try o cancel.

Sorry to here things are not going smooth, but i guess I'm missing something. Custom ordered boats take time to build, and this is the busy time of year for the manufactures. All the dealers are trying to get orders filled from thier spring boat show sales. 6-8 weeks is not uncommon.

Man I would pissed @ BU if I was in the other guys shoes that the sales rep claims to have bumped for your boat, I hope he does not read this or finds out.

Actually when you think about it, this is the worst time to custom order a boat, most of the time it is 8-10 weeks..... that put's it into Aug, your going to have a short season my friend. Or can BU glue a boat together in a week or two? What are they telling you for a timeline?

I understand that Tige can build a boat in 3 weeks at the new factory, once they get started.
                    Be excellent to one another.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal but again, custom ordering or even ordering a boat from the manufacturer takes time. Sales are hard now with the economy the way it is and anyone is going to make is sound like they can do something in hopes that you will bite.

If you want out of the contract, you will probably need to talk with an attorney but again, they also had the Z1 ready and waiting for you. Talk with the dealer and I am sure they will switch you for that boat and wait for the one that you have ordered.

You are correct, 3 weeks from start to finish. The busy season, Spring, just adds few weeks wait time to get the boat started.

It is 8-10 days to run them thru the production line. Time line as of Monday was June 5th delivery..possibly.

I would have bought another boat, off the showroom floor somewhere else had I known that it would not be here this weekend, and I did say that to sales guy many times in phone conversations.

My beef now is with the factory rep for bs in the sales guy and leaving them to hang....he ought to own up an make amends for that instead of blowing it off.

Still don't understand why the dealer can not put you into one that they have on the showroom floor and when the one that you have being made just replaces the one that you took off the showroom floor. The dealer is still making money off of you. Not to mention the dealer is replenishing their boat stock.

Or, did you choose some oddball colors that they dealer thinks that they can not sell the boat?

Talk about colors; when we first started looking for boats, my wife was on this "HOT PINK" kick.

My buddy had one up at Copes that he would unload for cheap...Thank god she thought the tower speakers looked like nipples and changed her mind.
