the break-in period is more like 10 hours. 5 hours is nothinig. The only way that would concern me is if I spec ordered a boat and it had 5 hours on it when I took delivery. Mine had around an hour on it when I picked it up, which included the factory test and the dealer prep (running it in a tank).

Regardless, they might have used the boat in question for a demo or two. No biggie.

It kind of sounds like you are set on a Z1, which is a good boat. I personally wouldn't worry about 5 hours that is pretty minimal on a new boat. I am of the old school thinking that once the motor is started it is broken in. As far as durability fit and finish Tige vs. Malibu...there are arguements both ways as to which is better. I still say go with the a good dealer. For example, I know a guy that got a new windshield, seat skins, and board rack...thanks to his dealer and Tige.

Tower of Power price well some areas are cheaper than others...

Didn't wanna read all 8 pgs so if i repeat, great consider it reinforcement, but from a serious riders perspective, I'm assuming your not planning on sacking out the boats, because neither of those would be the ones to do it too. Malibu is going to have a bigger stock wake than the Tige. Overall finish and accessories will be better on the tige for the price (i think thats somewhat obvious)...not sure about the ski wakes on either of the two. I am tige buyist but If it came down to 4000lbs in the boat of my choice, I'd go either xstar or malibu 23lsv. The malibu is going to have a narrower wake, do to the beam and the z1 is going to be wider. I have never ridden behind a z1 but I prefer a wider wake so that is probably what i would go with. I'm fairly certain the hull for the v ride is the old vlx hull, in which case was nice, but nothing like bu's newer hulls. Here would be my pics based on wakeboard wake seperated into length. 21 ft range: Post 2007Nautique 210 , 22ft range xstar or tige, 23 ft range malibu 23lsv.

Dont know if it was mentioned yet, but the Z1 has close to 900#'s stock ballast, Lit says 600#. We measured the rear hard tanks and found them to be near 300# ea and estimated near 300 in the bow sac.

We've taken delivery of a couple of their photo/promo boats. They have been in perfect shape.

It looks better than you think. That said, I don't think I'd ever own a boat with gray gelcoat.

It looks good plastered all over the www.tige.com website, under Z1

I've ridden behind an lsv and with the ballast full the wake was still tiny. My 22v without the ballast full make a much bigger wake that the LSV. Plus I think that Marine Power make a far superior engine.

Well, let me first say the Guys at Shipyard are awesome to work with.

Thanks again to Scott and Andrew!

We tested on a really choppy water, lake winneabago....and on the river.

Boat looked good. Nicer than I thought. Quality was there. Sound system rocked.

Cool start up on that boat.

                                Handled big chop nice.

The issues I had were that the wake at 11 mph was not real clean, I need that speed for the little ones learning to ski. The vride was tons cleaner at that speed.

The tower was a bit wobbly..seemed to move around more than the Moomba and vride.

Taps seems nice, but it seemed to be either all up or all down...never needed it partway.

Turning radius, def cant turn as sharp as the BU or Moomba..I mean normal throttle at low speed...turns like a bow rider.

More bow rise than the vride or moomba....could not adjust any further..taps may need a spacer.

All in all a NICE boat. I liked it, but the sealer was bow rise, turning radius, and wake shape at low speed.

Nice thing is SHIPYARD sell Malibu also!
