Good point above on the resale. I recently sold my 2005 22V (loved that boat) for about 5k less than I paid in 05. Had PLENTY of hours of fun on it when it went too. Thats better resale than a Lexus!!!

Vride has no options hardly at all...moomba and tige are loaded...although Tige has no ballast, and Moomba has no PPass.

So let's clarify something, the build quality of the Moomba is exactly the same as the Supra. Both lines are built side by side in the Tennessee plant to the exact same standards as dictated by Skiers Choice and Supras are recognized as a very well built boat. Don't confuse the appearance or feel of the components with the quailty of the boat! Moomba uses top line driveline components from Indmar, Walter & OJ. Controls are Teleflex for the wakeplate and steering with rack & pinion. Interior components from G&T vinyl, Syntec stain resistent carpet, Beede gauges, Kenwood Audio, Fat Sac ballast systems. All are name brands and of high quality. Just because things like the vinyl doesn't feel "leather like" or plush doesn't make it less quailty. The stitching uses the new Gore Tenara thread which withstood three years in the Arizona sun without degrading!
Where they cut corners is in places like less fancy dashes, no cool billet or polished aluminum pieces, painted windshield frames, simple interior patterns, less expensive (yet quality) vinyls, limited color options, no ballast gauges, non-swivel seats, no logo imprinted seat bottoms or fancy stiching and such, no storage nets, no step pads, etc, etc. in other words no bling or appearance items per se.
What you do get is a great functioning boat with a great wake hull and the potential for a fantastic wake when the ballast is full yet a flat ski wake at 28 when you adjust the plate. Btw the ballast is 1200 lbs, 400 in each rear locker and 400 midship in the ski locker. You get a limited lifetime hull warrenty (unlimimited on the lower hull), fours years drivetrain and a year everywhere else. Simple Cruise, depth gauges, flipup bolster, stainless cup holders, pop-up cleats, a boat cover, a fantastic Boatmate trailer are some of the standards. The standard Indmar Assualt 325 is a great motor and from what i understand has good fuel economy
I spent a lot of time crawling around the all the boats i looked at. I can tell you the Moomba and Supra's are built exactly alike. I crawled into the underdash storage and looked behind things like the side coamings and stuck my head into V-drive compartments and under seats, identical. Btw Tigé builds exactly the same way (with some exceptions) as far as i can tell from doing the same on the 22ve. The Moomba is all composite materials as well.
For '08 they have done some nice things like Deutsch connectors on the harness and cableless (wire) throttle assembly. Moius LSV weighs 3300 lbs and feels solid to me. I didn't notice any undo vibrations in mine when we test drove it off and on for almost two hours. I didn't notice any throttle variance either, in fact mine stayed put where set when i tool my hand off the throttle. I did notice handling in a V-drive i've never experienced before, most V-drives feel heavier and somewhat sluggish to an extent. The Moomba handles like a Direct Drive boat and i'm not kidding. I've driven late model Sanger's, Tigé's and Malibu V-drives over the last couple years and non can match the Moomba for handling responce imo. The LSV handles the chop well from my limited time driving it, the Tigés probably will take chop a bit better as they are heavier and a little wider. Can't speak for the Z1 as i've never ridden in one.
Does this sound biased? Hell yes it does because i just bought one after looking at new boats for a year. I wanted a 22ve as i really like Tigé but i could not justify Tigé's rising prices and that's where the Moomba outshines all the rest, because as you don't have all the bling you pay a lot less. It's not lesser quality, just less bling for less money and you get a lot for your money. When i shop for something i research the crap out of it before hand. We were going after a late model used and this boat, for the money with what you get changed my mind.
I looked at the Z1 and didn't like it (no offense to Z1 owners ), while the main cabins are the same size at 55 square feet, the Z1 looks and feels smaller and we didn't like the angular styling. The Mobius LSV has a 97" beam, just slightly less than the Z1.
So there you go 2thdoc01, that's my opinion and assesment so far. We're taking it out Saturday for the day so i'll have a much better opinion i'm sure after that. Which ever way you go you really can't lose as they are all good boats it's just which ever one is right for you regardless of anybody else's opinion.
Ok Moomba speech over with from the token Moomba guy, back to regular programming.Freude am Fahren.

That said, Moomba is basically a cheap supra. If you want to go with Skier's Choice, I'd seriously consider Supra. At least it'll be comparable to the build quality in the Z1 and V-ride.
V-ride. Havent been behind one, but the build quality on Malibu is great. Historically, their vinyl has been better than Tigé as well. From what I understand, Tigé is now using the same supplier for theirs. Not sure how much the V-ride is running for these days, but they're quite proud of their stuff. I saw a VLX at the Austin boat show for 75k. You can get a loaded Rz4 for that! FYI, the VLX is a 21' boat.
One other boat you might want to consider, thats still in your price range is the Master Craft X1. This is basically the original X-star hull, and is one of the best wakes out there. Its just too bad you have to deal with M/C's sales tactics to get through all the BS. But, I guess every mfgr has their own level of BS.
Whoops my bad, what I meant to say was that the Taps shapes the wake created by the Convex hull into what looks, feels, smells like a larger wake.

I don't think he had all those options. From what it looked like to me they were available options on a lot of them. Either way $44,500 is a steal.

Looks like it has Wetsounds on it...
I would find out some more info on the dealer(s) that you are looking at too since that can really affect a decision. Post up on Wakeworld regarding the dealers that the boats are at and see if you can get some opinions on their level of customer service since you will most likely have to have a few warranty issues fixed here and there and you want to make sure that when you do you will be confident in those repairs and if they will stand behind them.

Yes, those are all the options. It was the brochure shoot boat.
Dealer has been in business for many years, thay have 2 stores. They have only delt in big boats, baja, etc. They wanted to get into this market and picked up Tige and Malibu. The salesman said at this price, he loves the Tige, but would choose the Malibu when going to the VLX type boats.
