    Transmissions questions

So I’ve got two transmissions…. (With two different fluids one with filter and one with out)
    I knew that…..
How do I change the filter on the 10-17-104 velvet drive?
    And
    What is filter part number?
    And
Will any heavy weight 30 motor oil mix ok with what ever is in the Walter?
    And
How can I get the part list with picture for the velvet drive.

What yr/boat do you have? I think the Trans and V-drive just have screens if I'm not mistaken.

    Trans is Dexron tranny fluid

    V-drive is 30w non-deterg.

        I wouldn't worry about it.

You can download a PDF for the 71C/72C Velvet Drive transmissions here - http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/bw_sch_fs.html
Click on the link - BW71C_72C Direct Drive_Reduc_Ratio.pdf
Then save the PDF away for future reference.

The V-Drive should have 2 plugs with magnetic ends for catching shavings
As long as you have drain the fluid, you should clean the plugs.
Tige, it's a way of life!
