    TAPS question

When the TAPS gauge says 8, should the plate be up or down? My logic says it should be up, but on my boat, it's pointing down.

I would think you'd want it down (at 1, instead of 8), to force the bow down, and act like a hook for slalom skiing.

TAPS 8 should be at it's highest point and TAPS 0 should be at it's lowest point.

The trim tab is used to prevent the hull from planing on its intended design (displacement). So the more TAPs you have in, the less work the trim tab is doing allowing the hull to plane and displace. The less TAPs you have in, the more trim tab is used forcing the hull to ride higher in the water and displace less water.

1 = down and 8 = up, but up is only slightly past the plane of the hull.

Have you verified the plate is moving, it only has about a 3" swing from up to down.

So, is it just 2 wires that I need to swap?

Sounds like I am right, that the plate should be down for a slalom wake, and up for a wakeboard wake?
